From one guy that thinks the death of 1500 people is a good thing. He does not give anything good, he just says we should not say anything bad. Yes, I did read it and as a vetren I know where he is coming from but I don't think he is correct in his not wanting the people to know what is going on there.

6. Sorry, but those people don't look like they're being exploited. |
|
They are there because they want to be there.
They are part of the problem because they can't or won't inform themselves. They like not knowing the truth about this administration and the horrible things that are happening as they sit there in their comfortable chairs laughing it up with the president.

11. Nonsense, they were TOLD TO GO |

Put on your dress uniform, sit nicely, do not complain....and maybe you can finish your safe, stateside tour, and go home to your loved ones at night, and NOT get sent to Iraq.
They are trapped, like rats in a cage. The military cannot stand this President. The only ones who like him are the civilians in charge of the military. They are simply instruments, they dance to his tune, and they have no choice in the matter. It's a bitter insult to them, they join out of patriotism, and are used like disposable tools in a high-risk, low return political game.

president!?
Being in denial will accomplish nothing. You have to admit that there are millions of people in this country that love everything about bush.
I am not going to make excuses for them or try to convince myself that they don't know any better.

But I think the American people would be SHOCKED at the number who either cannot stand the guy, or who block their ears and eyes, and just stay apolitical. And there are plenty--PLENTY--who think the chimp sucks. They're my shipmates, my buddies, my pals. And there are WAY more of them than you might think.
The military is an INSTRUMENT of US policy. They do not make policy, they execute it. They do not deserve ire, scorn, or disrespect. That belongs to the assholes GIVING THE ORDERS. We are happy as hell to have them when we are threatened, and I simply cannot abide people who paint all people who VOLUNTEER to defend our nation as Republicans, chimp lovers, or somehow "evil." They are US. They come from our society, and they are as different and unique as any other citizens.
Hell, someone has to do the job, it's an ugly one, and don't we all wish like hell that humanity advanced to the point where no one needs standing armies, and we can all live in peace. That day hasn't come. We NEED those guys, we just don't need the weenie giving them lousy orders, and sending them off to die in a stupid, unnecessary war.
