Folks, ALL of the Dems were good today |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 08:23 PM by BullGooseLoony
except for possibly Biden, who had to go and ruin the party by announcing that he was going to vote to confirm Condi.
But, I think that they all did a great job of working together, and I actually think that Kerry did an especially good job. Usually I love a good Kerry bash, but if I was a Kerry basher today, I'd be wrong.
We should all be proud tonight here on DU, even the DLC supporters.

11. At least he's consistent. He's loved the Iraq invasion from the beginning. |

I know Del. is dominated by corps, but his is one of the few seats where I'm sure we could do better. There has got to be a better Dem out there who could win that seat.

14. Ruth Ann Minner! (here's her bio) |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 08:38 PM by AP
I want her to be VP too. Born in Slaughter Neck in Sussex County, Ruth Ann left school at age 16 to help on her family’s farm, later marrying Frank Ingram. Widowed suddenly at 32 with three sons to raise, she worked two jobs while going to school, earning her G.E.D. She built a family towing business with her second husband, Roger Minner. Roger died of lung cancer in 1991. Ruth Ann began in politics stuffing envelopes, then worked as an aide in the state legislature and as receptionist to then-Gov. Sherman Tribbitt. She was elected to four terms in the state House of Representatives beginning in 1974, to three terms in the state Senate beginning in 1982 and to two terms as Lieutenant Governor in 1992 and 1996.
Gov. Minner lives on a farm in Milford and most enjoys spending time with her three sons and their wives, her seven grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter and two step- great-grandsons.

But all of the others were great, especially Boxer and Dodd.

Totally not the argument, BTW. I told ya it's not Cartesian.
It's Hume. Very different.

at the Clarence Thomas confirmation the and I have disliked him ever since. The deck was stacked against Anita from the very start and Biden just piled on.

20. Biden canceled the testimony from the corroborating witnesses |
|
and called a vote.
Without the corroborating witnesses, it was a "he said/she said" thing.
With the corroborating witnesses it would have been impossible for anyone in good conscience to put a man on the Supreme Court who created such a hostile workplace for a woman he supervised.
I've said this many times at DU: I hope that whatever Biden traded for that action was really worth it for him, because what America got was Clarence Thomas's lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court and I do believe that there are many potential Bush appointees who would not have voted with Scalia, Rhenquist, O'Connor and the other RW loon in Bush v Gore.

Funny, it should be standard for a place like DU.
