This is fascinating. News headlines on Condi's hearing from....
all over the place.

http://news.google.com/?hl=en&ncl=http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news%3Fpid%3D10000103%26sid%3Da95BWCLGP3EE%26refer%3Dus

If you saw the hearing, you'd know Boxer and Dodd just blasted her, and she struggled under their questioning. Then, Kerry's mediocre performance ended the day's testimony not with a bang, but with a low whistling sound.

Then, read the headlines. What do they say?

Seattle PI, for example, had a grand total of zero quotes from Boxer, but had the absolutely glowing endorsement of Feinstein.

12. I think they are reigned in... by the Bush administration...
cutting that tether is the answer... Though, I assume you meant reigned in via stricter regulations and tighter controls, reinstituting the fairness doctrine, etc?

She looks like she's hatching a friggin egg. I've never seen her look happier than she is in that pic. When she was in the hotseat....

How ridiculous.

4. Yeah, what the hell is up with Fienstein???
She opened the hearing with a glowing recomendation and praise for Rice. Maybe she and Boxer were playing good cop/bad cop.

I'll say this, Rice likes to hear herself speak. She is 1. incredibly verbose 2. she speaks as though she loves the sound of her own intellect. 3. she is a showoff, speaking of every issue as though she knows it inside and out. And She is well informed, but is completely clueless about human nature. Book smart, yeah, Street smart? Big fat F. National security advisor? Fail. Se. of State, spare us!

11. does she have a heart?
Boxer and others tried to get her to show a human side, if she had one, re: Abu Ghraib, but, well, no, she didn't have such a side.

6. FWIW, PBS Newshour had several exchanges...

Between Boxer and Rice. Boxer distinguished herself... again.

Rice pouted that her honesty and integrity were being impugned.

Life is tough.

Voting Reform and building a counter media infrastructure are the two most important issues confronting the Democrats.

15. absolutely glowing endorsement of Feinstein.
wow. i have gone off news. all i can sit and say after watching hearing all day is wow. wow. lol lol and another wow. hm. that is something huh

i disagree with your accessment with kerry. first two were very good, by the third, late and tired and i think he was there to run out the time so boxer could come back in the morning to do her third. i thought kerry rocked

and dont forget feingold, he was excellent.

17. Kerry was good but he did not have the BoxFire.
She spoke for the people, directly and in Condi's face. Kerry was fencing - he had a few good shots but you could tell he was playing by the game rules and didn't really want to hurt anyone.

I WANT CONDI TO HURT.
