16. It does not matter one bit, it is just posturing to
get their words into the record.

She will be confirmed, and by the way, with votes from Democrats.

26. It is easy to show a spine when you know how the vote
is going to come out.

This was all pre planned in order to get their remarks in the record.

It means NOTHING if she is confirmed.

Don't you get it????

34. No I don't "get" it. If Kerry had voted yes you would lead the charge
to excoriate him. Instead he votes no and here you are!

36. If there's a way to trash the "wrong" politico for doing the right thing,
someone on DU will find it.

I have the scars from the primaries to prove it.

Just you wait til '08. It might be more than even I can handle.

23. For sure, but I think he owes it to the voters.
He has nothing to lose, but those who voted for him need this small acknowledgement.

Then he ought to have voted no.

32. Well, neocon rice did actively campaign
against Kerry/Edwards but imo that is not why he should vote "no".

con rice speaks for herself on why every damn dem in the place should have voted no.

30. Jon Stewart's jaw will hit the floor tonite
after he shellacked us with, paraphrasing, Democrats, a moment of resistance, a lifetime of copitulation.

Hopefully, alot of our reps got the message

33. Watch him not even cover it
or just use the overall yes to prove a point.

Still, since he used Kerry to illustrate, he could say something.

Or is it more funny to shellack ones fellow Dems.

35. It may not stop her confirmation...
but it was still worth doing. John Kerry stood up and voted on principle today. He took a stand against incompetent liars in the Bush adminstration. He set an example and sent a clear message to the Bushcons that they WILL be held accountable and that NO LONGER will they be given a free pass. He and Barbara Boxer called them on their shit (and got it on the record!) and they will continue to do so for as long as it takes to expose them for what they are and see them brought to justice. This is about influencing public opinion, informing the electorate of the lies and crimes of Bush and his cabinet. This is the smart way to bring the bastards down. It takes time, but it WORKS.
