6. I think he was referring to how Catholics Dems are attacked by repubs
There were Dems Catholics threatened and who lost their jobs for their support for Kerry in the election. I also think he was referring to how Kerry was attacked by some in the Church.

9. I agree, it is all for show if he doesn't vote no, imo
he is pointing out exactly why he should vote no yet he is going to vote yes, negates all he said before imo. There comes a time when principle should over ride tradition and formality and this is certainly one of those times.

She is the worst face the US could put forth to the world as representing the policies and beliefs of the United States.

12. Maybe it has something to do with this
Catholic priests and nuns delivered aid to a village in india hit by the tsunami and they refused to give it to them unless they would convert their religion.

15. The thing is
If their religion is really great it doesn't have to sell itself or be forced on starving people. People find it on their own.

17. Are you really sure about that?
Yesterday the thread was about unidentified nuns, now it's Catholic priests and nuns. Amazing how a story can grow in the re-telling.

18. I'm one
and he's right. I think some of you are reversing his statement. He's saying he IS a dem and it's becoming harder to be a practicing catholic.
