there has to be healing. Two objections is good enough. Boxer has to be on, Kerry dont have a choice he has to support Boxer.

"Kerry had to support Boxer"? Isn't he voting "no" because he doesn't think neocon rice would be a good representative of the USA as Secretary Of State?

|
Why are you giving all credit to Boxer and none to Kerry.
I cheer THEM BOTH. Both had a choice, as Biden had to deal with his fruatrations but vote yea anyway.
Why do you say Kerry had to support Boxer?

29. I can understand Biden's predicament |
|
There have been times when I have found Biden to be very annoying but I did understand HIS rationale for voting to confirm the idiot Rice. I can also understand that Obama isn't really in a position to come out swinging as a junior Senator, but what is in Dodd's head? Frankly I give Boxer a HUGE amount of credit--she has more brains than most of our government put together.
She has been on to this WMD sham from the get go.
I also give Kerry credit for his stand (I just wish he'd never voted for that damned Iraq invasion to begin with)

35. I don't believe he voted for the invasion. He voted to give Bush the |
|
authority to order an invasion. This is what has been lost by so many. He felt that in order to have more leverage over the UN and Saddam, Bush needed the authority to invade. So that is what they gave him. Later when the vote came up to approve the $87 billion to finance the war he voted against it.
This was nuance I admit. It would have been cleaner and less confusing for all if he had just voted against giving Bush the authority to invade. But he felt based on promises from the Bush administration, that all diplomatic opportunities would be exhausted before they executed a pre-emptive war. Unfortunately we now know they lied.

40. I understand that and I agree with you |
|
What pisses me off (and did then) is that our Reps should have known that bush was full of it, because he had a proven track record.
Logically I know why the Dems voted to give the scumbag the initial authority... but I just wish they had all been more informed or had called him on his admin's lies.
I admire Boxer for her smarts and dedication but I also understand now that hindsight was 20/20.
I am not Kerry bashing just expressing my frustration.

We're not going to have healing until we recognize the sickness. And Boxer could have been the lone objector, as she was on vote fraud; Kerry certainly had a choice.

|
Kerry HAD to vote no because he just got done trying to replace Bush with himself, and Condi with someone with very different positions than she Has. Boxer HAD to vote no just to show that she hasn't been blowing hot air all week.

It gets harder and harder to be a dem everyday with such spineless party leaders. Every dang one of them should be voting against Rice and Gonzales. That would be the RIGHT thing to do -- if they had a spine.
Dem agenda and values -- excellent!
Dem politicians -- horrible!

of our country. She continued to lie throughout the hearing. What in hell happened? Is this a precursor to Gonzales? Were the Democrats thinking Well, we will let Shrub have Condi, but no on Gonzales? They had better vote no on Gonzales.

The sooner dems understand they have no stake in this government, the sooner we may start fighting them. Until then, Democrats are like castrated animals As soon as they get used to their permanent minority status they'll start behaving themselves and not go around peeing on the furniture and acting up. Feingold, Dodd et. al. are not Dino's. Like Dodd said, a Prez should have the Cabinet s/he wants and the objections were token objections on principle. Biden hitting them with secrecy and lying again. Just listen.
