Social Security Crisis? Hey, what about the coming Oil Crisis?
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 12:00 PM by Quixote1818
They keep saying Social Security is going to run out of money in so many years at the current rate which actually can be easily fixed and adjusted, but what about the looming Oil Crisis? Some models http://www.oilcrisis.com/ show us Peaking RIGHT NOW and in just a few years all hell will break loose as Gas prices explode like a WMD devastating the world economy! It's amazing how Shrub can rile everyone up about Social Security when our biggest problem which is at our heals is ENERGY!!!! Why are no Democrats turning this around on Bush and reminding everyone that we really need to be worried about Oil not Social Security.

3. Because the stock markets are only helped by notion of a SS crisis
Edited on Wed Jan-19-05 12:10 PM by wishlist
If Bush says anything about the potential crisis posed by our huge budget/trade deficits or a looming oil shortage, the market would drop. He is only concerned with placating and recruiting more Wall Street supporters who have taken a hit since he has been in office. It's no coincidence that the stock market rose so dramatically immediately after the election when he announced that privatizing SS was his top priority (and they were assured that tax cuts for wealthy would remain sacred)

4. What oil crisis?
In just a few years, it will ALL be firmly and safely in the hands of a handful of people. Then they can charge whatever they want for it worldwide: $5 a gallon, $10, $100, whatever and people will pay it. By the time it's all actually gone, the elite will be nearing the end of their days with untold fortunes to dump tax-free on their spawn.

So what crisis? Everything is going perfectly according to plan.
