The President had a right ? |
|
I keep hearing from Biden and others in the democratic party that the president has a right to have the person he wants in his cabinet. Well, I would like to remind these people that they work for us. They protect the people of the United States. And when we have imcompetents and liars of the highest order in these positions, it hurts us, the very people that these democratic senators should be concerned about. Not the president, US!
It's just amazing to me that in the real world of employment, past history like Condi's would have had her fired long ago, but here she is being promoted, well because, the president wants her to be. Instead of doing Bush's bidding, they should have done what this administartion refused to do, and fired her ass for the absolutely most incompetent NSA director in the history of the United States.
I am so fed up. If they confirm Gonzalez, I'm afraid I will be leaving the democratic party, because basically, I just can't stand it anymore. '

4. Then why even bother with Congressional approval? |

Why stop there Biden? Let's just get rid of all the checks and balances and proclaim that Bush has the "right" to everything he wants!

5. Considering who Biden's keeping company with these days... |

It's obvious that he believes these neocon Likud shitbags have the "right" to invade, kill, or torture whomever they please.

6. If they confirm Gonzalez, I'm afraid I will be digging into... |
|
...the Democratic Party, because basically, I refuse to stand for it anymore. In fact, if they DON'T confirm Gonzales, I'll be digging in anyway, because WE're the party. And cutting-and-running doesn't accomplish anything except divide us and make us an easier target for the Radical RW.
By the way, why did you capitalize Gonzalez (sp.), Condi, and the US, but not the Democratic Party?

Excuse me for not capitalizing "Democratic". However, what does the fact that I capitalized Rice and Gonzalez have to do with anything? And furthermore, what does that have to do with the point of my post?

15. Yes, you are right......... |

I apologize. I focused on the last part because I was confused about what you were implying.
My level of frustration has reached an all-time high, especially with the Gonzalez hearings. I mean hear is a guy, who will be the top law enforcement officer, who basically disregards the laws in place to enforce his own set of laws. And the Democrats, for the most part think he's just a swell guy.
Just think about it. Confirmation of a guy who thinks torture and other high crimes and misdemeanors are just fine. And he's going to be our Attorney General. It's just the kind of stuff you would read in thriller novels. not somehting that really happens.

18. So which Senator told you he or she thinks Alberto is just a swell guy? |

Why do you assume the worst of these people? It's not a Progressive value to assume the worst of people. It's a Progressive value to assume the best.
Why don't you create a relationship with one or two of them so you can share your opinions of Alberto - and lots of other stuff - with them? Joining your county party and becoming an officer is a great first step.

10. Do you want them to spend their ammo now? |
|
There are two or three Supreme Court appointments likely to rise in the next four years. Do you want the Senate Democrats to shoot their wad now, over George's cabinet? Or would you perhaps prefer them to plan how to work their best in those future fights?
Politics isn't always pretty. But it's the game they're in.

...if they didn't confirm the Condiliar. At least she's damaged goods and way transparent. Easy to trash.
To your point, I remember Russ Feingold's statement upon voting to confirm John Ashcroft, in which he said a president should be able to choose his own advisors - but he also alluded to the fact that this courtesy would NOT be extended to other Bush** appointments; that is, to his Extreme Court appointments.

And not only do I not capitalize things correctly, my spelling is crap.B-) Not that there's anything wrong with that.
God save us from politics.
SEE I can't even type correctly. Like that matters. Condi is not worthy of the job-and if there is no point to the hearing why have one? To tell her how wonderful she is. (insert vomit smiley here)
Never give up indeed.
