If I put 40 cents in the soda machine tomorrow, am I still boycotting?
See...the soda in the machine has long been paid for (my employer contracts with a vending firm). My employer pays the vending firm for the soda, and can keep the proceeds from the machine.

If I buy a soda tomorrow, the change will likely not be removed from the machine until Friday night.

So, if I want a soda for tomorrow, should I buy it today and put it in the fridge? Or can I go ahead and buy it tomorrow and not worry about it?

My employer is an independent business, and none of its principals show up on Open Secrets for any reason, if that helps.

Thanks.

1. Keep it simple -- not one damn dime.
Tonight buy a soda to drink tomorrow, if you must. :)

10. Yep, time to break the soda habit
This is god's way of telling you to stop destroying yourself. Unless you're atheist, then it's just DU's way of telling you. :)

3. Another one...if I drive into SF
tomorrow for the protest did I break the rules. I have a fast pass so I won't pay for the bridge toll tomorrow but it will be recorded that I spent money that day.

I would just bring a soda for tomorrow.

4. That's kind of a catch-22.
How do CA fast passes work? I know in some states, you pre-pay, so you're spending credits you've already bought.

11. In fact, we'll do the opposite.
You spend nothing, and we'll flood the US monetary system. How's that sound?

12. It doesn't matter. If in your mind it doesn't break it, then it doesn't.
Since the protest is a purely symbolic action, no real economic effect, the only thing that matters is how you feel about it.

16. Oh Lordy... I Think You've Figured It Out...
... folks who are taking this things seriously and who think it will amount to anything are just fooling themselves.

Nobody cares. This is a passive-aggressive vanity 'protest'. An empty gesture that will be quickly forgotten. They may as well hold their breath until they turn blue and pass out for all the good it's going to do.
