Iran is next; Rice as much as said it today
Sen. Lincoln Chafee, R-R.I., meanwhile, urged Rice to consider reconciliation with Iran, which he said was about as repressive as China was when the Nixon administration approached Beijing for better relations.

But Rice said, “It is really hard to find common ground with a government that thinks Israel should be extinguished,” supports terrorist groups and is undercutting U.S. peace efforts in the Middle East.

Clark and others have been saying that Iran is likely to become a big issue this year, and I believe it will.

Bush Tells Troops 'Much More Will Be Asked Of You'
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush told U.S. troops on Tuesday that "much more will be asked of you" in Iraq and elsewhere as three days of ceremonies marking his inauguration got off to a somber beginning.

7. guess talking up "democracy deficit" also takes focus off real deficit
If there's any democracy deficit I'm worried about, it's the one in this country.

5. Iran is next

It looks as though, from her remarks, we are in the business of protecting Israel from the horrific Iranians, who Bush named as the axis of evil.

Is that really what protecting our freedom means?

Iran is NOT threatening us. I have not seen Iran threaten Israel. It is Israel, in fact, who over the past six months or so has threatened Iran with attack on it's nuclear power plants--

Is it not within the same logic to protect the Palestinians in order to protect our freedoms also?

So, on to Iran, who, seeing what Bush has done in Iraq, seeks to defend itself from the same fate and may seek to develop nukes as part of it's defense of itself. You can call it pre-emptive defense and it would not be without logic, given the stupid, arrogant, war mongering George Bush.

The accusation that Iran will use it on Israel out of pure, vindictive hatred, is absurd and is more propaganda out of the ass of Condi. It is demonizing another country , much the same as Iraq was demonized and it is familiar to all who are following Bush's method.

The next task is to convince the ditto heads that Iran, indeed, is a threat to the US. I doubt that convincing them for the need to defend Israel will be a big seller.

They, and any country that feels itself in the crossfire of Bush's evil, will seek to acquire weapons to thwart the madman when he, in front of the entire world, names them as part of his plan to conquor and destroy. If they did not, I would seriously question their leaders as being quite stupid, which I do not think the Iranians are.

9. Neocon dictionary does not include the word DIPLOMACY
Iran has already reached an agreement with the European Union on their nukes. We apparently are the ONLY people that matter, the good old US of A.
