Iraqi election.

It makes me sick to my stomach when I think in 10 days there is going to be a massacre in Iraq. I just have a feeling in my gut about it because our troops have never gotten control of any part of Iraq. How in the world are they going to be safe? They are suppose to be there to protect the voters and the polls where people are to vote.

God forbid putting this election off until there were more troops over there and the U.S. had the Country more under control (if that is possible now).

The terrorists are now getting urban warfare training in Iraq. They don't need Afghanistan anymore. Also, there will be no attacks over here as long as we have our young men and women over there with targets on their backs.

1. Why? Just because we placed "targets" over there doesn't mean
there isn't someone else who will attack here. We are making plenty of enemies. Countless enemies. It wasn't the Iraqis who struck over here in the first place.

We do not have one single unified enemy.

2. That's what I hate the most, and this admin will capitalize on the cycle.
Generate hatred, capitalize on the hatred to gain more power.

7. Also, it is not the Iraqis that are killing our troops either. Maybe
some Iraqi extremists that have joined the terrorist who are now getting the best possible training in urban warfare and that is fighting our troops now.

They don't care how many they kill at one time. These terrorist only want two things. Americans and Jews dead. If they can kill 1-2 or more Americans a day over there, what need do they have to attack us here.

I'm not saying that there are no terrorists in the U.S. That is something I do not know but can only give an opinion . . .

Just like my statement about the troops. That is just my opinion, which I thought everyone was allowed to have without being attacked. We can agree to disagree; however, some that have responded have called me names just for having an opinion. That is uncalled for.

10. I still disagree.
I think there are a variety of enemies available.

You said: ...what need do they have to attack us here...

They don't have to need to; they can just want to. Could be a different group. Anyway, I don't rule anything out.

3. It will be a nightmare...
Not only massacres, but the results of the election will be doubted. We can't seem to touch a vote without messing it up anymore.

6. I think after the election, Iraq will devolve into complete
civil war. They're just warming up.

11. Yes, civil war seems inevitable.
A backlash against the minority who oppressed others will take place, especially when they gain control of the country through "elections." I know this sounds bad, but Saddam seemed to be doing a good job of keeping stability and we just blew a hole into the hornet's nest.

4. Iraq is Just a Warm-Up
Syria and Iran are next, as is the entire Middle East. You should read about the neo-con's plans.

They'll use terror attacks, propaganda, 100% pure lies; they'll use anything to convice the gullable public that their intentions are for some sort of democracy.

Try to get past the immediate crap being fed by our press and look at and study the plan these sickos have. You deserve it and our country deserves it.

5. That last sentence sounds a hell of a lot like a neo con talking point
You write: "Also, there will be no attacks over here as long as we have our young men and women over there with targets on their backs".

I say bullshit. By what rationale or evidence can you possibly submit that? I think that it would be better had we NEVER ILLEGALLY INVADED a sovereign nation based on lies and greed. It would have been better for our troops to be home protecting OUR vote on Nov 2.

Bring them home NOW!

8. It's called an opinion.. Everybody has a right to have an . . .
opinion without being cussed or talked down to like they are stupid.

I do not pay a monthly amount of money to keep this site online just to be a neocon troll. And how in the World you felt that was a neoconservative statement is amazing.

I base my statement on the fact that since we have invaded Iraq, and we have not been attack on our soil again is not because of the policies of this administration, it is because of the availability of Americans in their own backyards. Common sense shows that to be true.

I agree about the illegality of this war and our troops should have NEVER been sent to Iraq. However, we have a power hungry president, who never admits a mistake, and who thinks God has put him in power at this time, and the "neocons" worship him at his alter of blood, oil, and greed, and then beg him for more.

As far as the last s(e)lection, it wouldn't matter if the troops were watching every polling booth. The Republicans had the election already won electronically. Until these illegal actions are brought to an end and those involved punished, there will not be another Democrat ever voted into office again.

Neocon . . .puhlease!

9. But it is a neocon talking point
and I'm not cussing or saying you're stupid, it just IS. I had it repeated to me by a former close friend who was a fervent * backer. I've seen it on the rare times I've visited the freeper board. I've seen it in writing by enough * backers to know it's a neocon talking point. I, myself don't believe it. They haven't attacked on our soil because they're very patient, and very calculating. It could happen today, it could happen tomorrow, or any day. Who knows? I don't agree that it's because they're fighting us in Iraq. There isn't just one "they", there are a lot of "they's", and they're spread out all over the world.

Iraq is a mess now, will be a mess before and after any "election", and I don't know what the answer is, except for the obvious, which is we shouldn't even be there in the first place. The other obvious is that * doesn't know what to do either. I just want our troops to come home - it's just going to get worse and worse, and I wish someone were in office who could actually deal with the reality of the situation.
