What is the lowest spot on the leaderboard in NH Wes would need to get more solid momentum in this primary season?

Neutral? Third.
Survive? Fourth. But that would be very iffy.

If he couldn't do it practically alone for a week and a half, it ain't happenin'. In the words of 80s group Crowded House in their one and only hit, "Don't dream, it's over."
But as a Dean/Clark/Edwards guy, I'd say Clark would need second to gain momentum, third to stay...well, what DTH said. :)
Later.

8. Wait until the 'red states' have their primaries |
|
Even if Clark does not do well in NH, he should win some mid-western and southwestern states. We could use a few more endorsements. So far we have McGovern, Madonna, and Moore. If we could get some endorsements from well-respected people, it would help.

4. I'd say he needs to come in the top 4 |

NH and IA aren't that critical based on history because Clinton didn't win either and he won the nom and the GE.

be required to actually gain momentum going into Feb 3rd races. A 3rd place finish won't help but shouldn't hurt any for his key Feb 3rd matchups (OK, AZ, SC) unless he finishes behind Edwards in NH and then SC is in serious jeopardy.
If Clark takes 1st in NH then I'd guess that Feb 3rd looms large on the horizon as a very, very good day.

9. I'm hoping Wes can get 2 or 1 in NH |
|
But all he needs to do is live anyway, his strategy seems to be focused on making a hard fight in NH and then going on a blitz on Super Tuesday, which looks like it will be a serious blitz now that the primary has essentially been narrowed down to him, Edwards, Dean, and Kerry and the only serious competition Clark has in the South at this point appears to be Edwards.
