2. Steph, I understand completely where you are coming from.
I can't watch this charade.

I thank God that my father, a WWII vet, and my oldest brother, a Vietnam vet, are not alive to witness this today.

5. Day that will live in Infamy
Mark this day as it will be remembered as the end of the U.S. as we have known it. By the time Bush/Cheney are finished it will be known this was a coronation, not an inauguration. It is the end of our freedom, not the beginning of the world's freedom.

6. You have a lot of company
I still can't believe that this is where the great experiment in freedom has led.

This would have killed my father-in-law, but only the living have to suffer through this apparently unending nightmare.

19. I Loved RFK
Of the three...and I respect and love them all, Robert Kennedy's death was the most tragic...in that it was potential "not realized."

His picture chokes me up.

12. I live in Columbus, Ohio
I will go to my grave knowing and telling anybody and everybody that bush stole
this election. Go ahead and cry ....... from what I know people of the DU have big
shoulders and if you need to lean someplace ..... come here.

And then get mad! Do anything you can think of to hurt the neo cons, the lap dogs
in the press, and the bastards behind this election and Iraq.

As for me I have helped Ken Blackwell's office for his run for governor to get
thousands of pieces of mail in order to tie up his work. No more Mr. Nice Guy.

15. Make your grandfather proud
Wipe your tears, and fight to take our country back from these warmongering neocons.

Write a letter to your local paper, write an editorial, do something positive to get our nation back.

18. NOT MY LEADER. Not my ruler. Not my choice. Not my voice.
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 12:24 PM by havocmom
OK, so we spend a few more years raising our voices to drown out the chorus of lies. We WILL overcome.

In this for the long haul or not in it at all.

I remember a time of horses, dogs, fire hoses, ax handles, burning crosses and hanging bodies. I heard raised voices and watched loving, brave people locking arms and facing every weapons the evil spirit of mankind could hold against them. I saw those weapons and that evil spirit beaten down.

That fire is in our hearts still. Breath in air and fuel the fire in you. We shall overcome again. And again and again. So long as we refuse to accept injustice, lies, crimes against our neighbors, they haven't beaten us.

Stephanie, it's just a battle. It wasn't the whole war.

Strength, sister, strength and resolve. I know you have it. Lean on me today until your strength returns. I will likely need you to help hold me tomorrow. But we continue and WE NEVER ACCEPT DEFEAT.

20. In 1968, we had a chance to elect Bob Kennedy and ended up
with Nixon. I don't remember crying when Nixon won, but I do rememeber being absolutely amazed. We've missed so many chances since then that I'm beyond despair. We've lasted this long, it's hard to believe junior can really destroy us.

Even if the speakers are "fringe people" like union leaders and feminists and are talking about human needs. It's heartening to hear the energy.

23. I hope my grandfather hasn't been watching this.
He gave me a silver pendant engraved with JFK's profile, given to him decades ago, and told me that I had to get involved with the government and try to help change the course of the country. I'd say I'm pretty useless here, though.

At least the people around Nixon made sure he couldn't start WWIII While Bush's people are egging him on.
