So, uh, about the Coronation...
A few questions for those whose bosses won't let them on-line at work:

Did Bush walk the rest of the way to the inauguration this time, or did he have to stay in the limo?

How many eggs, etc. hit the limo this time?

How many protestors were beaten or otherwise attacked by police, soldiers, etc.?

Any problems with mylar balloons and security in DC?

Anyone arrested for looking directly at Bush during the parade?

Just curious, but please respond!

3. Staying in limo, if he's actually in there at all...

5. Bush was unable, each inauguration, to walk any part of the route
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 03:53 PM by proudbluestater
due to the massive "love" that is exhibited as he moves through the great unwashed masses. On edit, just saw Cheney and his bitch wife walking a bit. I'm sure they are well protected. Don't see Mary there, maybe they stuffed her in the trunk. She was allowed out earlier today.

I heard of scattered eggs, a snowball, a few other items.

There was a live camera on 14th Street somewhere which recorded a scuffle of sorts and protestors were reportedly pepper sprayed. Haven't seen any of the footage yet, but somebody did a screen capture of the HUGE sign on the sign post there that says BUSH IS A MOTHERFUCKER in Day Glo paint. Priceless.

I didn't see any balloons.

Bush was in his bubble when I watched. I suppose he's back in the bosom of Babs and Rove at the White House. Will check to see if anybody dared look his way.

C-Span2 has said they will rebroadcast the counter-inaugural put on by the Answer Coalition today. This was on for about 5 or 6 hours as far as I can remember. Lots of speakers, lots of great signs. There are plans for a massive anti-war protest throughout the country on March 19, 2nd anniversary of the "shock and awe" campaign.
