What do you know about Gov. Phil Bredesen of Tn?

There was a note about him as a possible Dem candidate for Pres. in 2008. He seems like a pretty good guy from the little I've read, and there's an article on the New Republic that describes a very amusing story about one of the reasons he won the Gov. over his Pub opponent.

I have never heard of him before this article. Anyone out there know much about him?

1. A lot. He's my governor and also just about the only bright spot in TN

He's great, he's smart, and he's the most popular governor in the country. I think his approval rating is a little above 80% at the moment. He was elected in 2002 so has only served 2 years.

Unfortunately, he's not very charismatic and I don't think he wants a run at the WH. But he'd make an outstanding president.

3. Thanks to both of you. If he's that popular, he's done something

right! I don't know of many politicians that aren't ambitious, so maybe he could be talked into running. On the surface, he sure fits the program. Governor, Southerner, hunter, and popular in his home state.

I know charisma is a great thing on the campaign trail, but there's 2 1/2 to 3 years to coach him.

The New Republic put him in their scope for some reason!
