Do you think the young Republicans understood this part of Shrub's speech
or their parents, for that matter?

"A few Americans have accepted the hardest duties in this cause - in the quiet work of intelligence and diplomacy ... the idealistic work of helping raise up free governments ... the dangerous and necessary work of fighting our enemies. Some have shown their devotion to our country in deaths that honored their whole lives - and we will always honor their names and their sacrifice.

All Americans have witnessed this idealism, and some for the first time. I ask our youngest citizens to believe the evidence of your eyes. You have seen duty and allegiance in the determined faces of our soldiers. You have seen that life is fragile, and evil is real, and courage triumphs. Make the choice to serve in a cause larger than your wants, larger than yourself - and in your days you will add not just to the wealth of our country, but to its character."

I take it as begging for enlistments. What happens when this doesn't produce the desired effect? Why can't the morons who voted for him see what is going on?

5. With their scrubbed faces and shiny noses?
They very much remind me of cultists - they are as well indoctrinated as any cult member.

8. I see them around school
There's this particularly repugnant one in my English class who obviously watches too much Fox news. I had to control myself from calling her a warmongering bitch. Now everything she says and everything she does pisses me off.

14. Last year in a politics Class
When the Dems were filibustering judicial nominees, I got into it in Discussion with a College Repub.

It was the discussion section, so there were about 20 of us. It was right after lecture, and our TA was pretty cool. As long as we didn't interrupt, we could say pretty much what we wanted when we wanted.

Our TA asked us, "So, why might this fillibuster be taking place now. What reasons would there be."

Some College Rethug stooge quickly answered, "Because the Democrats don't want Bush appointing minorities and women."

I saw my friend Adam, who was sitting next to me, looking at me for a reaction out of the corner of my eye, and the next thing I knew I had blurted out, "Where the hell did you hear that load of bullshit? Did Rush tell you that? Maybe Hannity?"

whoops.

By the TA. I apologized to everyone, but made an express point to phrase it so I didn't include the College Rethug.

17. Nice
Actually, that bitch in my class was saying some bullshit like "The reason civilians are dying is because of terrorists not because of the US" and then some guy got pissed off and said "Well, that wouldn't be happening if we weren't there in the first place". He ended up walking out of class. Seriously, that chick is annoying.

18. Yeah, no kidding
What would be the rationale for them killing their own people? Just for the hell of it? They wouldn't have anything to prove.

There just seems to be a pattern of "terrorists" in Iraq attacking US targets and areas that support US efforts.

I shook my head in pain.

6. Typical bushit...
"A few Americans have accepted the hardest duties in this cause - in the quiet work of intelligence and diplomacy ... the idealistic work of helping raise up free governments ... the dangerous and necessary work of fighting our enemies."

No, actually dumbass, they were just looking for jobs...

"Some have shown their devotion to our country in deaths that honored their whole lives - and we will always honor their names and their sacrifice."

Then why don't HONOR them by allowing the media (or their parents) to greet them in their nice coffins when they return home?

"I ask our youngest citizens to believe the evidence of your eyes."

Yeah, wake up and take the blinders off...

"You have seen duty and allegiance in the determined faces of our soldiers."

Awesome...you, GWB, had no idea what duty was in YOUR youth...

"You have seen that life is fragile, and evil is real..."

Evil is real? You got that right, Oh evil one...

"Make the choice to serve in a cause larger than your wants, larger than yourself - and in your days you will add not just to the wealth of our country, but to its character."

Thanks for that, GWB - a recruting statement for ALL of those who despise you, you tyrannical little despot shitforbrains mother****ER...

But that's me...

19. I never believed in the existance of evil as much as I do now
People who usurp positions of power, and use them to establish a Plutocracy and spread Empire. They make themselves and their backers wealthy at the expense of American lives.

Oh yes, Bush. Evil is real. It's you.

(Sorry, couldn't resist -- Kerry's the second person I thought about when I read "Make the choice to serve in a cause larger than your wants, larger than yourself - and in your days you will add not just to the wealth of our country, but to its character").

The first example I thought about was the hypocrite who said the remark...

24. Oh, believe me, yours will be good for four years.
"Four more years" is the Kool-Aid phrase of this regime. And now that WhatsHisFace's gross lack of judgement & common sense have put a huge target on us, let's just hope we're still around when we can change our nicks to something more positive. ;)

22. I think at this point his supporters simply refuse
to see the truth because it will mean admitting to believing such an incredible pack of lies for the last 4+ years. They just can't do it. It's too painful and embarassing to realize that the person you entrusted your country, your money, your home and your family's well-being to is a lying sack of shit who would sell his own children down the river if it came down to it. It would be like realizing you campaigned for Hitler.

Heck, they don't even know the difference between the Constitution and Declaration Of Independence. I doubt most even have a grasp on reality.
