The protests and the other side
After seeing yesterday's protests I am almost certain that it was the largest and loudest voice against any president on their inauguration day. Even the 2001 protests didn't seem to be at this scale.
My question is: When some repug brings up the fact that georgie won this last election by the largest number of votes in any election, would it be the right thing to point out that he also had the largest protest against his bullshit presidency in American history?

1. It would at least be appropriate to point out
that more Americans voted against him than any other "elected" president in our history.

3. Wee need cross comparison
We need to compare the inaugurations of several presidents. It would be interesting to see the magnitude and fierceness of Clinton's detractors as opposed to Bush's detractors. I want to see an honest listing of these things.

4. I don't ever recall it being part of the news
It seems that they are reporting the protests as part of the whole story this time. I don't recall hearing this in the past. Not even in 2001 did they report it this way.
Nixon's might be a top contender, but I was pretty young to remember in detail.

9. I noticed that too
and my question is why? The reporters went out of their way to point out the protestors and went on to say how protests were part of democracy. They were making it all sound great and wonderful, but every other event that had protests, the pundits and talking heads demonized the protestors. Why was today different? That kind of frightens me.

got the SECOND largest number of votes in any election in history!

(way way more than St. Ronnie)

on edit: and that's by THEIR bogus count, not an honest one

8. Bush won 'with' the largest number of votes ever- 62 million
and Kerry had the 2nd highest total- 59 million.

http://uselectionatlas.org/USPRESIDENT/national.php?year=2004&f=1

As for mentioning the protests, the evidence of Bush's failure is everywhere, his approval ratings are lowest ever, his election margin was lowest for a sitting president since Wilson, etc...

11. Isn't Bush's "victory" margin one of the narrowest in US history for
a second-term, "war-time" president?
