Is there a DU for high school and college kids? |
|
Of all the sites, DU is the one that has kept me the most informed and sane. I am thinking about activating the kids, getting out the vote, energizing the slackers. Is there anything that we on DU can do to bring the kids on board? My kids read it, vote, and help but they don't post (they are in their twenties). I know we liberals can rebound if we get better organized and have that whole group included with us...war is not their answer, either. Any ideas for outreach from this site?

My son is 9th grade and in a joint custody arrangement. We email to help stay in touch.
He has a growing interest in Bob Dylan and sent this to me yesterday. I post it to show that kids are very aware and eager to explore at this age: =========================================== Dad,
What do the words I highlighted mean? Hurricane Lyrics - Bob Dylan
Four months later, the ghettos are in flame, Rubin's in South America, fightin' for his name While Arthur Dexter Bradley's still in the robbery game And the cops are puttin' the screws to him, lookin' for somebody to blame. "Remember that murder that happened in a bar?" "Remember you said you saw the getaway car?" "You think you'd like to play ball with the law?" "Think it might-a been that fighter that you saw runnin' that night?" "Don't forget that you are white."
===================================================
If there were such a 14-18yo area, it would need constant moderation.
