Bush's America in a nutshell
When I was a kid I remember an incident that sums up my feelings about the current state of America. I was maybe 6 or 7, and a member of our church was very ill, not given long to live. Evidently he rallied and the doctor reported that it looked like the man was getting better. There was great rejoicing among the church faithful. They scheduled a prayer meeting to thank God for the miracle. Four days later the guy died.

One would think that this would have caused all kinds of consternation among the church faithful. One would expect some to step back and say, “Hmm, maybe our faith is misplaced.” No, there did not appear to be any questioning or diminution in their faith in their God. The preacher said it was still a miracle that Brother so and so lived a few weeks longer than expected. No mention was made about fervent prayers of thanks to the God who evidently decided his kindness toward this one particular individual, and his many loved ones, had run out.

This is what we’re seeing among the Bush faithful. Everything Bush says immediately becomes gospel to his many worshipers. A no matter what facts come to light showing he might be wrong, they never question George Bush’s word. Their support of George Bush never waivers. He continues to feed them platitudes filled with words like, freedom, faith, humble, and God-fearing, and they become ever more fanatical.

This kind of behavior scares me. Anyone who puts their complete, unquestioning faith in one man, one preacher, or one interpretation of God, is dangerous. People who learn from their mistakes, who question conventional wisdom, are survivors. People, and nations, who blindly follow a philosophy without questioning those occasions where their beliefs don’t fit reality eventually perish.

I believe reason and common sense will prevail in the next four years and Bush’s support will continue to erode down to his large core of fanatical faithful. But if I’m wrong, this country is in deep trouble.

9. LOL!
I'm off work today (obviously). Right now I'm writing a short narrative of my vision of George Bush trying to get into heaven when he dies. Bwahahaha!

This is how I cope with this fucknut and his worshipers.
