Christian right marks start of 'a good 4 years'
Can it get any worse? Guess the whole on-going wars, deterioration of public opinion for the US, continued vulnerability to terrorism, reduction in civil liberties, sky-rocketing national debt, lack of health care, increasing rates of incarceration, etc. doesn't matter as long as people are praying - and praying to the right god mind you.....

A couple of hours after President Bush took the oath of office, the indefatigable Rev. Lou Sheldon, founder and chairman of the Traditional Values Coalition, was more upbeat than usual.

<snip>

"This is the beginning of a good four years,"

"Religion and morality," Sheldon repeated. "That's what is happening--that fusion of religion and morality and public policy has now come about."

2. That's like my first thought.
My first thought was, 'That's what you think, Sheldon! It's gonna' be an enlightening four years for you - you will find out your balogna is not popular, and will not win out - or be implemented.'

4. I trust their kids are all enlisting, along with Jen and Barb,
to fight in Dubya's mission to spread freedom throughout the world. The "Bush Doctrine," as it's being called, amounts to screwing the less fortunate by spending money needed for health care, jobs, etc., on war, then sending the disadvantaged young to die for the end result of his grandiose ideation. I'm sure I'm not the only one who believes the Shrub is certifiably insane and his inaugural speech was proof positive.

5. What morals???
Does anyone know what Uncle Sheldon means when he says "Religion and morality?"

He's happy because this administration will extoll "religion and values".

I'm sorry, but I look around and I see the total lack of values and religion.

I see con artists who lied their way into an illegal war. I see the murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis. I see a skyrocketing deficit that will cripple generations to come. I see the poor and underprivilidged being trounced on, so millionaires can enjoy lavish tax breaks. I see corporate demands trumping the best interests of citizens. I see religion being used as a marketing device.

What morals and values does Sheldon see? I truly don't get it!

6. Not sure whose morals and values Sheldon is talking about
But they definitely aren't the ones taught by Jesus Christ.
