Boeing in coalition that will help push for private accounts

"WASHINGTON -- A coalition representing such companies as The Boeing Co., Pfizer Inc. and Fidelity Investments will spend "significantly more" than $5 million to promote President Bush's plan for private Social Security accounts, the group's coordinator said yesterday.

The companies, concerned the government will otherwise raise the 12.4 percent payroll tax to plug a funding gap, plan a campaign of direct mail and television advertising across the nation to back Bush's proposal, said Derrick Max, coordinator of the Washington-based Coalition for the Modernization and Protection of America's Social Security (COMPASS)."

Anyone know a list of companies who are fully supporting SS privitization? One very powerful way to fight against this is to threaten to pull our your IRA money from any brokerage firms who support it.

Why don't they put their energry into building some decent airplanes? Exactly what has been accomplished at Boeing while Airbus was coming out with the A380?

3. "The companies, concerned the government will otherwise..." MY FOOT!
" raise the 12.4 percent payroll tax to plug a funding gap"

They want to abolish their current 6.whatever percent contributions.

4. Add the Discovery Institute
Add the Discovery Institute, 1511 third ave. (They could look out the window at the anti inaugural protesters) These are some of the most organized and well funded christo fasciest on the planet and they hide in plain sight in a very blue city.

Thses are the same whackos who are the architects of the "Intelligent Design" cloak thay are now throwing over "Creationism" to force it into schools and pushing roads vs transit in local op eds and articles. They fund local wingnut causes via donations to national groups who add layers to obscure the source.
