Why Have The Dem's Stopped Bashing Shrub For Not Finding Osama?
I can understand why ShrubCo. would stop talking about it, but why are the Dems? One would think the Democrats would constantly be sniping at ShrubCo. on this issue as well as a host of other issues like Ken lay etc. Democrats, it seems, need to get much better about sending off consistent daily talking points to all of their representatives and allies.

2. Why stop there? No Osama, No WMD, No $ NCLB, No Health Ins.
No help with drug prices, NO exit strategy for Iraq or Afghanistan, and on and on and on

Our political leaders are a sham and not just George Bush & Co. either

3. Here is the Dallas spin..."2 down, 1 to go"
Local radio station has thrown Arafat's death into the mix...sooo is this supposed to make us "feel better" about the failed regime search for OBL?? Are we going to hear this every time a Muslim leader dies?? "Hey, another one died, who needs Bin Laden'??

A North Texas radio station is using Osama bin Laden as a marketing tool. Talk radio station KLIF-AM has sparked some controversy by erecting about 20 billboards around the Dallas-Fort Worth area that feature bin Laden.

Featured with him in some of the signs are jailed former Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein and the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Those say "Two down, one to go." The signs with bin Laden alone say "Some people want you dead."

On that score, he's apparently succeeded. The station has received hundreds of e-mails and phone calls commenting on the signs. Bason says the comments are split between positive and negative.

One of the billboards was erected above the Texas Hereford Association's building. Association manager Jack Chastain was not amused. "I'm a strong Republican and a strong Bush supporter," he said. "But I'd like to believe we're above that. I'd like to think we have more class. That looks to me like it's low-class." Bason was unrepentant. "We knew some people would be offended by them. But they prefer to ignore the facts of the world we live in these days," he said.

4. Is it bashing to point to failures of foreign policy and performance?
I would call it righteous dissent and opposition.

5. If it was a democrat in office
Faux would have an Osama "clock" running on the bottom of their screen.

8. Also, Ted Koppel would announce the number of days
since 9/11/2001 that OBL has been loose each night on "Nightline" if a Democrat were in the office of the presidency.

That is what Ted Koppel did to Jimmy Carter during the Iran hostage crisis.

6. One reason may be that it's risky
I think it might be better to harp on the fact that BushCo and their Iraq distraction has given Al Qaeda an escape, given them time, given them a new haven for organizing, given them new recruitment motivation in the escalated hatred of the US, allowed them to carry out attacks in many other countries (including Iraq).

If we make it all about any one person, it's both over-simplifying it and also runs a great risk that when that person is caught, people think BushCo has solved the problem when they've actually made it worse.

9. They could say, "perhaps his caprture will come soon,
I hope OBL's capture will be announced tomorrow, but is the Bush Admin. doing everything possible to make that happen?"

10. Right, but
when he's captured, then the Democrats would be left holding nothing. I'm saying it's a broader issue and needs to be framed as a broader issue. BushCo gave him a running start, let him gather strength, let the organizations grow in sphere and danger, and even if they catch bin Laden, that's not the whole game. That's what I'm saying.

11. That is a good point!
I do beleieve however that he issue could have been used to great advantage just prior to the election. As a short term, tactical strategy, the Osama issue could have been used much better by Kerry. In the long tern, I agree with you.

12. Bush will get a boost if he captures OBL anyway, and the sooner
the better, for the good of the country.

Democrats should pressure the Bush Admin. on this for the safety of Americans.

7. W answered this one once and for all:
The Post: Why do you think bin Laden has not been caught?
THE PRESIDENT: Because he's hiding.
