Congressman Luis Gutierrez swtiching endorsement from Dean to Kerry
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 09:40 PM by wyldwolf
From FOX News. Rightwing source. Ye be warned..

WASHINGTON DC -- Fox News reported today that U.S. Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-4th) was overheard on a plane that he was planning to switch his endorsement from Democratic presidential candidate former Governor Howard Dean to U.S. Senator John Kerry, who won the Iowa presidential caucus on Monday.

"Dean's candidacy is dead," Gutierrez reportedly said.

i understand he said he didn't want to be perceived as being fickle so he would wait to evaluate the situation after the NH vote. he was very upset about 'the speech"

But I'll bet there are a few other endorsers going through some buyer's remorse today.

3. Oh my God!
Did he give any other reason, besides saying that Dean's campaign was dead?

I wonder if the post caucus rallies had anything to do with it?

5. I will never forgive Gutierrez for selling out Harold Washington.
After Harold died, Gutierrez went into an alliance with the dark side. I don't even remember all of the details. But it is seared into my psyche that he sold his soul to the devil.

I like Kerry, I don't like Dean. But above all that Luis Gutierrez is a ho.

6. After last night
Who did not see this coming?

While coming from Fox and it may be bogus, it could also start a departing avalanche of endorsements abandoning what would appear to be a sinking ship.

And then there were none!

7. Most people won't desert him as long as he stays in the race
But he sure put the kabosh on any further endorsements, at least until he recovers from Iowa.

By the way, where IS Carol Moseley Braun these days?

9. True. The endorsement trend now will be to Kerry and Edwards.
Carville has been pushing them as a ticket and I'm sure other Dems have heard him loud and clear.

8. this doesn't mean anything
this happens all the time. if edwards or clark were to win new hampshire, he would endorse them next. if dean ends up winning new hampshire, he would go back to dean.

12. This "thing" will blow over.
The establishment has tried to kill the Dean candidacy many times over--and it refuses to die. This won't do it either.
