Albuquerque Tribune Endorses Wesley Clark
EDITORIAL: We endorse Clark for New Mexico's caucus
Among a distinguished field of worthy Democratic candidates, retired Gen. Wesley Clark stands out and offers hope and vision.

Amid the intense and sometimes bitter confrontations of the Democratic primary campaign, Clark has emerged as calm, confident and capable - a political outsider but someone who knows the terrain very well, isn't easily fooled and is up to the challenge of the nation's problems.

Whether the issue is personal integrity, intellect, political vision, leadership or basic respect for the value of an American soldier's life, Clark has earned the right to carry his party's banner into a full-bore showdown with President Bush.

The Tribune endorses Clark for the Democratic nomination for president and urges New Mexico Democrats to vote for him with confidence during their caucus on Feb. 3.

We tip our hat to Vermont Gov. Howard Dean...

1. That's a very nice endorsement for Clark. Congratulations!
I like Clark because he is very gentlemanly yet down to earth and can manage to tell it like it is without being abrasive. I would imagine this quality will go a long way in NM. I was just there in November, the people are extremely nice and polite.

I think Kerry, Clark and Edwards will do exceedingly well in the swing states.

2. Calm, confident and capable
That pretty much sums it up for me. Add that to "personal integrity, intellect, political vision, leadership"...

What more could any of us ask for?

I want a smart calm and confident man in the WHite House.
