Who should run in 2008?
No joke. We were sitting around the office the other day talking about who we would run in 2008 and someone said "Oprah". Our first reaction was that it was a joke but when we got to talking about her and her qualifications (certainly better than Reagans or The Arnold we begin to think it wasn't such a bad idea.

Any comments?

2. Didn't Michael Moore write a chapter about Oprah as a candidate?
It was kind of tongue-in-cheek, but had its points, too.

3. Michael Moore suggested this in one of his books
As much as I like Oprah, I'd prefer to have someone with at least a little political experience under their belts.

People would vote for her, though, that's for sure. In droves.

8. That would be the route to take, if she were interested
I can't imagine her wanting to be president.

5. I don't think we could get away with nominating such a lightweight
It's a dangerous world and qualifications DO matter. Just look at what the severely unqualified Bush has done.

She'd be an unmitigated disaster as a Presidential candidate. Maybe if she ran for Mayor first.

7. Well...at first thought, my reaction was... Orah???

..but...you know, she would likely bring in 20 million votes on her name alone....and since she is quite Liberal, maybe it's not such a bad idea.

9. She manages a HUGE budget -
She would break open two glass ceilings in one shot a woman and black.
She knows how to recognize and employ talent.
She knows how to delegate and run the ship.
She is a diplomat of the first order.
She has lived rags to riches and has never forgotten her roots.
She is accepted by all - including the red state, stepford wife, fundies. (In fact, they adore her.)
She is knows about working long hours.
She knows where to go for answers.
She has a global sense of her place in the world and a global conscience.

11. We need a governor. Senators come with too much baggage.
