Families of servicemembers killed in Iraq turned away at Pentagon

http://www.estripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=26689

WASHINGTON — Pentagon police on Wednesday turned away family members of troops killed in Iraq who wanted to confront Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld on the reasons for the war in Iraq.

The group of about 20 was stopped before entering Pentagon property by about a dozen officers, who told the protesters they did not have the proper permission to enter the building.

Organizers said they have been petitioning for the meeting for weeks, but department officials are ignoring their requests.

“The man who was too busy to personally sign the Killed in Action letters these families received is apparently too busy to acknowledge the request of the Gold Star families for this meeting,” Nancy Lessin, co-founder of Military Families Speak Out, told reporters gathered for Wednesday’s protest.

3. My Rant

"The group of about 20 was stopped before entering Pentagon property by about a dozen officers, who told the protesters they did not have the proper permission to enter the building."

Am I the only one who gets the feeling of irony that Bush and Rumsfield never got "proper permission" to commit acts of war? Our Constitution is explicit on this matter. "CONGRESS" is the only branch of government duly elected to declare war. And I dare any freeper to try and tell me that Iraq isn't a war. --Also-- The landmark U.S. Supreme Court case of Marbury vs Madison explicitly illustrates the separation of powers and that NO ACT or Law or Legislation can override the U.S. Constitution. Period!

Just goes to show how far we slid down the road of tyranny, and this Nazi who likes to think he's my President has done more damage to our core founding principles than all previous Presidents before him combined. This war criminal is no President of mine.

That's my Rant... :)

5. Bush Administration - Constitutionally Incapable of ....
Handling the TRUTH in any format except to spin it out of purportion so it becomes a lie.

He's weakening seperation of church and state and removing the checks and balances between the three government branches. This is like a phsyco History lesson. "Everything You SHOULDN'T DO if you want a healthy Democracy" Of course, Bush and his millionaire like don't live in a Democracy, they live in a Republic.

15. Does anyone here know of any high ranking members of........
this admin, DoD, et al, who have attended any funerals for any of the service men/women who had given their lives for the conflict in Iraq?
It's never mentioned at the federal level if this has ever happened altho at the state level, I have heard of Govs who are are always there for the families of those that sacraficed their lives for this administration. I have heard of state officials doing this, not thru MSM but places like this site.
Only very occasionally will you ever hear about someone from this admin even going to VA hospitals to 'comfort' those who were severely wounded.
It's like Babs said: 'Why should I waste my pretty head with thoughts of war' (paraphrasing)
