Boxer vs. Blitzer this morning...transcript's up for those who missed it!
Do yourself a favor...if you're feeling a little down today go read this transcript.
Senator Boxer's fire is warming me way out here in Texas.
Come sit by the fire for a spell and see if you feel a little more hopeful just having this woman on our team. :D

SEN. BARBARA BOXER (D), CALIFORNIA: Not at all.

And I just want to respond to Andy Card. And I don't know how Senator Lugar feels, but as I've said before when asked about this, no White House really enjoys dealing with the Senate or the House. They would really rather, frankly, just be able to do whatever they wanted.

And I was questioned by one reporter at the inaugural -- I was at the inaugural. And she said, "Well, why are you delaying this vote? The White House wants a vote today." And I said, "Well, you know, the White House doesn't run the United States Senate, and the United States Senate doesn't run the White House. We do have this check and balances."

And I think it's very important, when you have a secretary of state nomination in a time of war -- and as I laid out, and I will lay out again on the Senate floor, one who I do not believe has been candid with the American people, who's gone on shows like yours and made statements that I don't think were true, or they were half-true, didn't tell the whole story, didn't level with the American people -- I would not be worth my weight as a United States senator from the biggest state in the union if I didn't bring up those questions.

I'm only doing my job, even though Andy Card would like me to go away. I'm not going to go away.

<snip>

But the fact is there was very little about what the policy implications of all these grandiose words meant. And you had to have Daddy Bush, President Bush's dad, who I really like very much, getting out there, saying, don't worry, be happy, we're not going to really change this.

I found it a very odd speech, in the sense that I was baffled as to what he's talking about. And then you get Dick Cheney talking about some kind of attack on Iran by Israel. It's all very troubling to me, and I'm confused about it.

5. Wow, your post on that website is great
His speech trulw was incoherent (and scared the heck out of me). I'm also glad you shot down the JFK analogy the nutniks have been trying to draw -- that's been driving me crazy. JFK was prgamtic, not a nut like Bush!!

3. If you haven't already, please e-mail Wolf Blitzer!
I posted a link to Blitzer/CNN earlier today asked DUers to send e-mail in support of Boxer (the theory being that the more the media hears from us "average Americans", the less likely they are to "slant" the news coverage of her).

It's not too late to e-mail them -- the more people they hear from, the better). You can use the link provided on here:

Thanks for posting the transcript. She was great today -- and Blitzer gave her a lot of time to speak!!

Sen. Lugar and Andy Card. She was great! And, uh, uh, I feel another thank you note welling up. Time once again to send my appreciation.

7. I have a big question regarding the State Department.
Sibel Edmonds talks about them in a negative light in her personal situation, but Boxer claims that the State Department has said that Iraq was not involved with Al Qaeda.

So, how can we be sure if the State Department is telling the truth in one case, but not the other?

10. I've never heard of this lady until last week..I'm so impressed
WOW, it's nice to know someone like Sen Boxer is on our side.

I've been following politics alot now for over a year because I met a friend and we were both democrats right after 9/11(working at a business that was so OVERLY patriotic we could both puke). I have learned so much, but new people that I didn't know of before keep popping up all over.

There is help on the way.

11. This is what pisses me off about Blitzer...how he sneaks
in his opinions (loses credibility w/ me as a so-called journalist):

BLITZER: "...everybody knows it's a done deal..."

BLITZER: "... You have to admit, she's well-qualified in terms of her personal story as well as her experience in academia and government."

Not the point, Wolf. I thought Barbara did an excellent job on his show. Of course, that's my opinion. :)

19. In my e-mail I told Blitzer that we don't "have to admit" anything!
He aggravates me when he pulls this crap! Boxer is a true patriot. The other members of our govt. need to find their moral compass and start modeling behavior that embraces honor, integrity and courage. It would behoove the media to start doing so, as well! I am proud that Barbara Boxer is MY SENATOR! She's a living testimony to the power of TRUTH!

Kathump! The little lady has gotten a bee in her bonnet lately and I'm mighty proud of her! And Lugar looked lame in his response. There wasn't much he could say, and The Wolf ended with Boxer. THAT was a SHOCK!

Loved every minute of it.
