Clark basically said he tried to support the administration in the beginning for the sake of the country, but it's clear Bush lied.

As for anything else he had to say, I was taken out for a minute or two by his blinding smile.

Brokaw threw Bush's statement at him, about what a terrible person Hussein was, the torture chambers, mass graves, isn't the US. safer with him gone? Clark said if Bush wanted to go after Hussein for being a terrible person, than that is what he should have told the American people, but that was not what Bush used as his reason for invading. 500 Americans sacrificed their lives because Bush started a War claiming Iraq posed immediate threat to U.S., not for a war to go after a bad person (these aren't the actual words, but the gist), there were other ways to deal with Hussein, and Hussein was not connected to 9/11.

Brokaw flashed NH Poll with Kerry and Dean ahead of Clark, essentially asking Clark "you got a problem with that?" Clark said this is his first time campaigning and it is going well, he is connecting with people in NH, he expects to do well, but he is fully prepared to take his campaign well beyond NH, to SC, NM Oklahoma, Arizona, Wisconsin etc.

And yes he tried to throw Clark's old praise for Bush at him in a fairly crude manner. I think he was fishing for Clark to lose his temper over it, but he didn't. Said those words were spoken at a different time, in different context. Bush was our nation's president and it was important that he succeed in correctly confronting terror etc, for all Americans, but he failed. Exact same routine regarding whether or not Clark backed the war. Clark didn't take the bait, said he opposed it as soon as he heard Bush was gunning for Hussein and looking for an excuse.
