What will it take for the MSM to declare the Iraq elections a "failure"? |
|
My prediction for the whole affair is that only very select factions of the country will vote (like the richest, most secure areas), but there will be no major disruptions thus giving the superficial appearance of a clean, successful election.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the winner that emerged was a staunch Islamist politician, something we really don't want in a "democracy".
If either of these scenarios were the case, the media wouldn't dig deep into the scenario proclaiming that the great majority of Iraq is represented by the new government. I think it is only if there are a mjor number of insurgent attacks that the media will stop to say, "hmmm, that didn't work very well".
It's sad because it's a complex issue that will probably pass without notice or critique.

We have to see what happens. I know if I were Iraqi, there's no fucking way I'd go out to vote, unless I lived in a completely "pacified" area. And even at that, I'd be hyper-vigilant during the process, and if there was ANY kind of line, I'd skip it.

5. I don't expect to hear anything but positive news about the |
|
election in Iraq. So few reporters are actually able to get further than their hotel lobby that I figure the military will be providing all the information we'll get. And we know that information won't be true.

6. The script is already written... |

There is no way the Bush Junta is going to let anything other then the word success be associated with the "Election". The MSM will follow their que just as they did with the lies that got us into this mess in the first place. If you are hoping or thinking anything else will be broadcast to the sheeple in America you are sadly mistaken. There are no Walter Cronkites and even if there were real reporters or journalists still working in the media they would be hounded as frauds and traitors by the right winged Brown Shirts that now get the majority of the air waves to push the Bush propaganda.

7. Nothing short of 5,000 deaths that day and turnout below 33% |
|
will keep the MSM from repeating, without challenge, Bush and Rice's assertions that the election was a success.

9. The BSM will not declare anything a failure. |
|
Iraqi elections will be touted as a success no matter what happens.
If you want unbiased coverage and a realistic assessment, look to the BBC or other out of the US media.

11. MSM will never admit it if the elections go bad. |
|
Instead we will get painted the rosiest picture possible. Although this is just the first series of elections I believe not a presidential choice.

13. Not going to happen ever. Here's why: |
|
The whores, who consider never having to say you're sorry the very best perk of being a whore, have way too much invested in this war. They cheerled the neocons all the way into it, they ignored the realities of it once it started, and they're not about to let it go sour. They simply haveto have been right and they're going to do everything in their power to make sure we all think they were right.
There is no standard low enough for them to call the elections a success. After the bare minimum amount of "debate" the media consensus will be that the elections were valid. Democracy will have been implemented. The Iraqi people will be free at last thank God almighty free at last. Chimp and PNAC will be visionaries carrying out a bold new plan to spread freedom accross the globe and the whores, far from wanting war simply to boost ratings, will have been wise enough to recognize the greatness of these men from the very beginning.
And if the iraqi ":governemnt" asks American troops to leave, our leaving will be "the will of the people" not even close to "cutting and running."
If any major media organization from the NYT on down arrives at the conclusion that the elections were bogus, I'll go down to the pentagon and do 20 push ups while chanting "Rummy is Nice"
