So... Are Harold Ford, Jr.'s Senate Ambitions Finished?
Edited on Mon Jan-24-05 01:41 PM by liberalpragmatist
Politicalwire reports the following from the Memphis Commercial Appeal (a subscription paper):

http://www.politicalwire.com/

State Senator Admits to Two Families
Tennessee state Sen. John Ford (D) testified in court that "he keeps two homes and two families, alternating between two women whose children he fathered," the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

Ford's families "stay in houses he owns and where he also lives, though neither home is in his South Memphis Senate district." 'He pays all of the bills for each home, though he cites a law he wrote should enable him to pay less child support.

When a judge noted his lifestyle was unusual in that he keeps two homes, Ford shot back: "Not necessarily. I know people who got five."

***

I could be wrong, but it's my understanding that this is Harold Ford's uncle.

ON EDIT: Note: I don't care what his uncle is doing. What I'm concerned is that this could still affect some people's vote. If Clinton could lose Gore votes, well? People often vote for silly and irrational reasons.

5. It doesn't - but I wouldn't underestimate its effect on some people's vote
People sometimes vote for stupid reasons. If Clinton lost Gore votes... well, it just goes to show that some people vote for completely stupid reasons.

14. Funny how Neil Bush can have underage Thai hookers and fundies love the
Bush family and their "morals" and admire their greed.

8. Yes he's toast. Everyone knows we are all responsible for
the behavior of our non-immediate family members. Better check your family out thoroghly so you don't get fired because uncle charlie got his car repoed.

The upside of this, of course, is that the chimp should be immediately impeached because one of his brothers is a whore-boinking slimeball, and the other is an S&L crook.

12. Aren't the whore-boinking slimeball
and the S&L crook the same brother? He's a double-barrel scumbag. But one would be hard-pressed to find a smidgeon of honesty in that entire family, anyway.

10. That is the least of Jr's worries
He just can't win. Jr is from Memphis, West Tennessee, and people in Middle and East Tennessee don't like Memphians.

Hopefully, the Dems in Tenn. will run a progressive.
