O'Reilly hatchet job on Boxer filled with lies
below is just a small snip of what is being said on conservative BS news. the rest can be had at http://mediamatters.org/items/200501250001 , i think O'Lielly should hear from us. how dare he boxer these names. perhaps our senator Reid should get his butt on the show and stand up for boxer. i dont know but damage control is in order.

FOX News host Bill O'Reilly repeatedly attacked Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) for her pointed questioning of Secretary of State-designate Condoleezza Rice during a January 18 confirmation hearing, repeatedly misquoting Boxer's remarks to Rice and presenting an account of "Senator Boxer's strategy to fight the war on terror" that was riddled with lies and distortions.

snip

Anti-missile systems for commercial aircraft

O'Reilly called Boxer "a nut" for introducing legislation to equip commercial aircraft with anti-missile systems to repel attacks from surface-to-air missiles:

O'REILLY: And, she sponsored a bill to have jet airlines be equipped with missile defense systems. It didn't pass because -- so look. I mean, this is a nut. All right? This is a nut we got in the Senate.

But the Homeland Security Department is already spending $90 million to test the feasibility of such a measure, and Israel is already implementing such a system for the fleet of its national airline, El Al.

2. How dare Senator Boxer to tell the truth?
O'REILLY should be ashamed of himself. I know I am ashamed of him.

12. there is something about him thats comforting. yuck!
he has a way about him that makes the veiwer think he cares. He talks to his veiwers like they are 10 years old and explains the news to them so they can understand it. kind of like "these are the bad guys and these are the good guys." that kind of talk. he is the best at that.

he has turned the ACLU into the devils workshop doing this.

5. you know what, this morning,
I've kind of had it. I've had it with these idiots, I've had it with this administration, and above all, I've had it with the stupid fucking hypocritical Bush-ass-kissing base that's so stupid it doesn't grasp the obvious fact that they are bending over completely for these a-holes over and over and over.

Shrieking about treason and terrorist-appeasing while their leader laughs his ass off about how easy it is to pull the wool over their eyes with some of the biggest lies in the world.

The other morning on Imus I watched Dick Cheney say that he could understand how some people "could have thought" that the Iraq invasion was about weapons of mass destruction, "because of Saddam's history". You fat fucking whale, I thought your party was supposed to be the party of personal responsibility you lying, cowardly blowhole?

I'm really furious, I'm enraged.

8. CHENEY: "Everything Changed on September 11
and Saddam and September 11 both start with the letter "S", and Saddam and September 11 both have to do with the Middle East. September 11 and Saddam and September 11... and Saddam. And September 11. And Saddam, plus September 11, not to mention Saddam."

RUSSERT: "Some people believe that Saddam is connected to September 11, even though no connection can be found linking them."

CHENEY: "We have never claimed that Saddam and September 11 were linked, and I'm not sure where the American people came up with that wacky idea linking Saddam and September 11. Saddam. September 11. Booga booga."

RUSSERT: "September 11 has definitely changed things regarding Saddam, but if Saddam and September 11 are not linked together, then why are we invading Saddam's country after September 11?"

CHENEY: "September 11 has changed the entire world and the world includes Saddam, which shows how closely related to September 11 Saddam really is. Saddam also has nuclear weapons and biological agents and chemical weapons which he has loaded onto missiles on his secret moon base. He is going to attack us with nukes and anthrax and smallpox and nerve gas in an attack very similar to September 11."

RUSSERT: "Nukes and anthrax and smallpox and nerve gas!? Oh my! Would that KILL people?"

CHENEY: "Most certainly. Just like September 11 killed people, which further proves how close to September 11 Saddam really is."

RUSSERT: "Do we know where these weapons are?"

CHENEY: "They are in the areas around Tikrit and Baghdad and to the north, south, east and west. And we must stop them before the smoking gun comes in the form of a mushroom cloud. Like September 11, except worse. Saddam. We must invade them. September 11."

RUSSERT: "Some people believe that you want to invade Iraq because of the weapons of mass destruction."

CHENEY: "I don't know where people come up with these silly ideas. Saddam. September 11."

11. Yes i know how you feel
that is why i think we need damage control. when someone challenges our senator this way, our head democrat needs to get his ass on that show and say "how dare you". for heavens sake when you have ultra conservative whack jobs talking about crazy stuff no one dares call them nuts. but they can say anything about democrats and get away with it.

it must stop and the only way it will stop is if they are called on it. and i really dont see Reid as the dynamic type of guy to do the job. but if thats who has to do it then he better do it.

14. Somebody best do something
This never should have gotten this far. It simply never should have gotten this far. The right can do anything, anything it wants to, and will continue until something changes. WTF? If I wasn't in a long term relationship I would seriously consider leaving.

9. This goes without saying, of course...
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 08:20 AM by Jeff in Cincinnati
By O'Reilly is a freaking idiot. Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) Systems have been proven dependable. They've been in use by military aircraft for at least thirty-five years -- how much more proof does this pinhead need? At very least -- and I mean at very least -- the troops that are being ferried in and out of Baghdad Airport need to be in transports that have ECM (some of the transports are commercial airliners).

13. With each new debasement, he just seems to get even more popular...
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 08:33 AM by Crankie Avalon
...with his audience of angry, resentful, underachieving, chip-on-their-shoulder white males. I guess they're used to being routinely shown up for how wrong they are, or how incompetent, or how unsuitable in whatever multitude of roles and situations in their own daily lives, so when they see O'Reilly caught out in his lies, his sex scandals, and his pretensions to "tough guy-dom," they feel a perverse bond for him that only gets strengthened with each new revelation. "The world" is "coming down" on O'Reilly, just like they feel the world "comes down" on them.

They feel like he's one of their own: An angry, overwhelmed loser at odds with the world.

16. Emily Litella Moment
O'Reilly's ranting was based on Boxer's alleged attack on Rice's "respect for the troops." Boxer spoke only of "respect for truth." Hilarious!

Let's ask O'Reilly what he thinks of the recent presidential erection.

There have always been countermeasures on military planes. It seems to me it would be easy to adapt them to commercial planes.
