Question. Who Will Vote Against rice? |
|
In my opinion there are definites and possibles;
Democrats:
Definite: Kerry, Kennedy, Byrd, Feingold, Harkin, BOXER
Possibles: Leahy, Schumer, Clinton, Stebenow, Mikulski, Levin, Durbin, Kohl,Murray, Cantwell.
Republicans:
OH, PLEASE!!!!
BTW, the order I mentione them was by my thinking of the U.S. map. Since I live in Maine I started from here and moved west.
Can you think of any others? Am I being too generous to some? I'd like to "hear" your opinions!

I make these kinds of mistakes all the time. I would be a hypocrite to diss anyone else for mistakes I make constantly.

Stabenow was reported asplanning to vote for Rice
And my understanding is that Feingold believes that a President should be free to choose the Cabinet, so he'll probably vote for.

I really doubt Hillary Clinton is going to in her "Slllide to the right." I wonder if Obama may do it as well, and I could definitely see Durbin doing it.

vote against her confirmation, but I don't think it'll happen.
Durbin maybe, but Barack no way and I have no problem with that.

14. Why do you have no problem with Obama's voting for a war |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 10:15 AM by Benhurst
criminal? Because he doesn't have sufficient seniority? If so, when will he have sufficient standing to take a moral stand?
Is it because he is an African American? Then should we have "no problem" with Durbin's voting for morally objectionable people of his race?
If it's because "the president deserves his team," then why don't we just dispense with this farce, save time and money, and let The Leader have whomever he wants without the bother of Senate confirmation?

5. Stabenow said this morning on C-Span that |
|
she's voting for Rice. Feingold voted for her in committee. As far as Senator Leahy goes, I hope he votes against her. He has nothing to lose. Vermonters support him and repubs already hate him. More importantly I hope he votes against Gonzalez.

Yeah, you are being "too generous" to those 2. And unfortunately one of them is allegedly "my" senator :(

9. Was it Cantwell or Murray that voted against the war? |
|
Whichever one of those it was (both from WA), they have shown they have the...uh...guts to vote against the mainstream, and I wouldn't be surprised if she voted against Rice.

I only thought of "possibilities". The vote will be AT BEST, 80-20!
I do see the point of some that a president, even an incompetent fraud like **, has the right to appoint anyone he pleases. I do believe that the Democrats could look at the fact that she has 55 solid rethuglican votes and make a protest in the names of almost 1400 dead Americans and how many thousands of dead Iraquis who did nothing.

Feingold is my senator and I called his office yesterday to tell him to vote against Rice and Gonzales. The office person kept having to answer other phone calls. I gave her my message and she told me they were getting many call about this.
