Someone please keep score on Senators.
Some folks, including myself are missing some or all of the Senate confirmation hearing. Can someone please keep score of the Senator's comments and votes so we can send the appropriate messages to them.

Durbin?

I don't think Durbin made it perfectly clear but it sounded like a NO.

Is that right, everybody?

minority leader and thought the i was a typo?

24. LOL. I think Harry is actually doing a good job so far. He set up a War
Room, they are posting on DailyKos now, the Senate Dems will do their own investigations because they can't get the Rethugs to investigate anything, etc. I've been impressed with some of his changes.

They have a couple open spots for an "unnamed" Democrat if anyone changes their mind.

13. Im betting feingold will be a YES
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 06:47 PM by BayCityProgressive
He believes any presidential appointments should be approved. I strongly disagree with him however I like him so much I won't hold it against him. I know he isn't a DINO. I really can see two sides to this and as long as the dems who vote "yes" dont attack the liberals who vote "no" i wont be too mad.

17. In addition to her obvious NO vote, Sen. Boxer...
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 07:16 PM by Telly Savalas
made a very impressive presentation. I only caught about 10 minutes from the middle of it, but she was laying out a detailed exposition of Rice's contradictions and errors with regards to the invasion of Iraq. The type of work she was doing today is what I think our opposition should look like for the next few years. She was calm and respectful. (She even gave props to Sen. Lugar for his job of overseeing the committee hearing.) She went out her way to say that it's not her habit to try and block nominations, but that this was a special case. Her critiques weren't ideologically driven, so she was speaking for the whole party, not just its left-wing. Yet she was persistant and forceful in her demands for accountability from the executive branch.

Tactically it was a smart move. Obviously Rice is getting the nomination, and I personally don't give a rat's ass who votes YES or NO. Nevertheless, it's good to exploit every opportunity we can to rub the Bush Administration's nose in it's own poo.
