We are stuck in Iraq for between five and twenty years !

Read Bob Herbert's column to that effect : "The Republicans' bizarre parallel universe "

Here we find Sen John McCain saying that we're in for between 'ten to twenty years'; however, in Gen Tommy Frank's book he tells us that we are there for only five more years.

So mon freres, expect a draft since there's no way Iraqis will be up to speed in policing their country within five years (and the Republicans have yet to show us their plans--I don't take Frank's word for it...seems too pollyanna in the 'parallel universe' they all inhabit !).

That said, Vietnam lasted about ten years. With our casualty rates and war annual expense rates, I cannot see how Bush can still promote his tax cuts becoming PERMANENT and this country not to be torn apart internally. Hence the neocons internal secret policing etc. even on guys like Paul Craig Roberts (who is now receiving neocon hate mail--hey guys, he's one of your own, a Republican !).

Looks like we'll have to 'Khe Sahn' it for awhile: build bases in the desert and hunker down all the while supporting the regime the US wants to win in the long run.

Bush IS in the running for "worst President, ever".
