poor wittle Christians

Sadly, Christians have climbed into the closet

To the editor:

The world continues to change rapidly for Christians in America. Churches and ministries can no longer rely on the good will of other citizens or on the beneficence of politicians or courts to assist them in serving God and their neighbors.

Christianity remains under attack in America as never before. Christians may not merely assume that because a Christian President sits in the Oval Office that they can relax for the next four years.

The year 2005 would be a good time for Christians to seriously consider becoming involved. Sitting on the sidelines will doom your children and grandchildren to a future with far less religious liberty than what you have enjoyed in your lifetime.

Get involved in your local church. Get involved in your local community. Get involved in telling others about Jesus Christ. The homosexuals are clearly out of the closet. Sadly, many Christians have climbed in.

The price of inaction for Christians in 2005 may well be a future that we do not want to even begin to imagine - underground churches in America, people arrested for mentioning the name Jesus or criticizing homosexual conduct, handicapped and unpopular people legally being put to death (like so many unborn children already are). The 2004 elections were a good start, but 2005 is already upon us with its own unique legal problems and challenges. Remember; "Hate the SIN, but LOVE the Sinner".

Please pray. Please stay alert and get involved. For the sake of the next generation, it's the least we can do!

Robert L. Weir USA Ret.

One of GOD's Children

1. Permanent victimhood
is their strategy. They hope people won't notice that they control nearly everything.

11. We have all the power -- BUT WE STILL DON'T GET RESPECT! Sob!
Ugh.

And I'm a Christian folks. There, I said it.

Now, back into my little closet.

Please note my little hoopla hat has Cheney and Bush jokers on it. Creative little thing, wasn't I.

10. I know you're joking, but truth may be stranger than fiction:

Occidental resident Mickey Hart will join fellow Grateful Dead member Bob Weir. The musicians, along with rocker Steve Miller, are part of an effort to bring a younger vibe to the grove, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Powell, Rumsfeld, Grateful Dead members on exclusive club´s guest list
July 24, 2004

The summer retreat that Herbert Hoover called "the greatest men´s party on Earth" is under way in Monte Rio, and the guest list is as eclectic as ever.

Secretary of State Colin Powell, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, the CEO of Bechtel Corp., former Grateful Dead bandmates and vintner Robert Mondavi are all scheduled to attend the Midsummer Encampment of the Bohemian Club of San Francisco.

5. Oh, fer cryin' out loud.
people arrested for mentioning the name Jesus

The people in control of the House, Senate, Supreme Court and the White House have Verbal Jesus Diarrhea. They're going to have to change the laws on themselves to get arrested for it.

6. Paranoid ravings

Did this assclown just sleep through the last 4 years? The Us is in the OPPOSITE direction of what he is talking about, and still moving in that direction-and it's his side that talks about arresting and/or putting people to death for agreeing! And this idjit has the gall to complain about how things are going against his beliefs?!?
This is precisely what I find scariest about how the elections turned out. The repubidjits have the nerve to get everything they want, and then complain about how they are persecuted. A group like that will soon begin to think that anything they do is justified, since they are clearly being "repressed". How long until Mr. Weir decides to start shooting people because of how they are "repressing" him so much? He's clearly delusional now; how far will it proceed until he snaps?

Going to jail for mentioning Jesus. For-the-love-of-Christ that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Victims my ass, you are. How dare you call yourself a victim, when all you are doing here is spreading bigotry and disinformation. How dare you claim to speak for Christians like myself. You are a Charlatan, not a Christian.

Insulted?

9. my local AirAmerica station here in PHX (1010AM) does a bit on
Christian "descrimination"

they are asking for anyone who has lost a job, a house, got a beating, denied medical care, or any other action base on "being a Christian"

it makes the point very well

they don't have it on their website yet, but they will soon I'm sure

13. "handicapped and unpopular people legally being put to death" ?
Isn't this a policy the same leader he / they so esteem promotes?

"Get involved in your local church. Get involved in your local community. Get involved in telling others about Jesus Christ."

The second part sounds great, do the first if you must, but for the love of Pete give the last one a rest already. After all, I'm unshakeable in my belief the world was created by gay pink leprechauns.

18. Yes. I wish I had a fitting label for THOSE kinds of Christians.
Something to differentiate the pseudo-Christians from the real Christians. Usually I just call the pseudo-Christians freaks. But that isn't fitting enough or framed well at all. I'll keep thinking...

16. ????
:wtf:

Ok, now that's the pot calling the kettle black for sure.

So, lemme get this straight... the persecution of Christians is for no other reason than blind hatred?
Nothing to do with a massive number of 'Christians' wanting to oppress the liberties of anyone who, well... doesn't agree with them.
Nothing to do with wanting to relegate to second-class citizenry nearly 5% of the population who have never harmed anyone.
Nothing to do with wanting to teach children to ignore little things like 'science' and 'facts'.
Nothing to do with trying to eradicate the marvelous works of literature that they don't agree with... God forbid that children should mature with anything resembling imagination, or even worse, critical-thinking abilities!!! (GASP!!)
Nothing to do with wanting to spy into each-other's bedrooms to make sure we aren't doing anything that would 'offend their sensitivities'.

AND nothing to do with the fact that WHILE they're trying to protect us from these 'EVIL' things, all in a chorus they cry, "BOMB THE MUSLIMS IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!"

No, those poor, persecuted 'Christians'... despised for NO GOOD REASON!!

:puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke::puke:

17. Oh I hope Christians DO take action.
I'm talking about the Christians who follow Jesus for real. The real Christians I know are some of the best people I have ever met. I pray, "for the sake of the next generation", that Christians can overcome the "posers" who are trying to use Christian followers as a tool to further their political hate agendas.
