Sen.Boxer and the lefties allied with Islamic terrorist by Freepers.
here is the link http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1328510/posts

What I do not believe is that they are citing a book by a person namely David Horowitz. It claims that the Dem. party and its leadership along with the many so called lefties are in cahoots or allied with the Islamic terrorist?

The reason I post this is to gather much needed debate and discussion about the merits of their claim. It may be a hogwash to most of u but it still warrant a very good rebuttal with that ridiculous claims and labels that are being put up against us as Democrats and Left leaning smart people. Thanks

3. This is simply absurd.
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 09:59 PM by Seldona
Another way for people to make another group of people less human. therefore justifying what we all know they feel.

Behind all their intolerance and bigotry, I really believe that a majority of people over on that site would gladly sign on to round up liberals, maybe even worse.

Not all conservatives are that way, or even most for that matter.

But Freepers are a peculiar breed, there is no doubt.

My father used to say I should watch where I point my finger, because I have 3 pointed right back at me.

That phraseology really fits in this case I believe.

5. Well, I did get a ton of money from the Saudis
my father has close financial relations with Saudi Arabia as well. You know, the nation that the hijackers are from.

And I have a record of doing business with Osama bin Laden's brother in law.

Plus, I employ people who helped provide Saddam with his WMD and who were there to approve him gassing his own people.

So I guess the freepers have a point.

Oh, wait. That's not me... I was thinking of Bush...

My bad.

15. The reason I post this was to generate a positive discussion
It is a common knowledge around here that freerepublic users ideology are extreme and to be overzealous with their patriotic meme. What I want this site to do however is to be completely different from that site, I gather that we can discuss all of their topics that needs to be address here for a rebuttal. Maybe, this is too much wishful thinking on my part, but I want DU to be more of a place where perhaps people of freerepublic mindset can engage us in a conversation, dialogue, debate about many issues that are pressing our country.

Topics ranging from guns, terrorism, poverty, healthcare, govt.role in our lives, etc. This is probably impossible to do to most or some of you guys here at DU. I am concern that both sides are just as guilty of pepetuating conspiracy theories to the detriment of our country.
Each side claiming to be more American than the others, more patriotic than the left or right, which people that are not involve on politics can begin to question themselves who to trust. Which information is correct or which side are telling the truth? how to deciper the truth? people get turned off by this I think, consequently the dissipating interest in politics in our govt. and its actions.

I for one think that we need to lessen the name calling, while true that freerepbulic users are harsh against us, but I for one think that DU members are more reasonable, much more sensible less bravado tone and more articulate when discussing topics of interest.

11. Here's the problem
These people think Ann Coulter is smart. They think Bill O'Reilly is a man of the people. They think Rush Limbaugh is a moderate. They have a lot of personal and sociological issues that make them extremely prone to following people with hateful, simplistic, and xenophobic agendas.

I have friends who are Repubs and Bush supporters and I never get this kind of stuff from them, so I assume Freepers must be extremists like the terrorist jihadis they purport to loathe. Ironic? I think so.

I fail to see why they deserve any answer.

13. Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
This would abso-fucking-lutely hilarious if half the nation wasn't so full of shit that they bought this crap!!

OK... I'll go read it better. I actually am an expert on Islam and the culture of the Semetic Arab (no, not a paid one. I have familial ties. That said, I can give credibility to myself by offering this: Clark bloggers will attest that I was before Sy Hersh to bring back word of torture in Iraq. Longtime forclark bloggers probably know this and will back me up).

I'm sorry. My first reaction is always to laugh at these weirdos. I will go read it with a clearer head this time.

17. They also have an article about a certain Dr. whose brother was
a former Admiral and former chief of the Joints Chief of Staff. The Dr.Claims that Israel attack a vessel, a U.S. navy ship unproke without any reprisal from the U.S. Allegedly, this happen during the Johnson admin. (conveniently, trying to blame it on the Democrats)

Will anyone can shed a light on this pls. we need to discuss this coz we do not want this meme spread around like it is some gospel truth.

16. They cited David Horowitz??
Oh, man.

Horowitz is best known as a "radical-turned-freeper" who writes books without citing his sources.

For example, Horowitz reported that unnamed antiwar professors and students at the University of North Carolina (where my brother-in-law, an Arab, teaches) as "jumping up and down" in glee as the World Trade Center burned.

This, of course is NOT TRUE. Students and faculty of Muslim faith actually requested a mass appeal for prayer and, at least one professor put together a list of Arab/Muslim sentiment in favor of the U.S. and against terrorism, which probably never got reported. (it's still up today: http://www.unc.edu/~kurzman/terror.htm)

But, as usual in the likes of Horowitz's world, the implication that the "treasonous" activities of antiwar student groups and professors ought to be shut down was implicit in his complaint that antiwar teach-ins took place at a taxpayer-supported institution.
Apparently, only "patriotic" activities – such as his "Think Twice" tour - a religious right, neo-con extravaganza – ought to be permitted. Think Twice means this: students had better "think twice" before they openly oppose the war – and get their name on a list.

Horowitz needs to re-examine his faith.

18. I heard Michael Savage say today that Boxer and her fellow Dems
who are voting against the Rice confirmation are the "enemy within." He claims they are "strengthening our enemy" and should be tried for sedition! This is the Freeper mentality. They don't believe in democracy. Anyone who opposes * or anything he does is a traitor!
