Anyone get the feeling that Boxer sparked the beginning of the end for *
I don't know, I just get the feeling that Boxer started the demise of Bush. I am not saying he will be impeached but it seems like we finally reached a turning point in Bush's momentum. I can just feel the air starting to swish out of the Bush Administration tire. His approval rating will continue to drop and public outrage will begin to up swell and bubble up until Bush is cooked and leaves office in complete shame and enters an elite group of men known as Pathetic Presidents. In fact he could end up the king of that group after it's all said and done.

Then again, I could be fooling myself and giving the country too much credit?

I'm in St. Paul and the spirit of Paul Wellstone is alive and well in Boxer and Dayton, two of his "biggest fans"!!!

The Dems will do this to all of his main nominations..making the liar tag stick. His social security plan will be a miserable failure because not even Republicans will vote for it, the budget will piss a lot of people off...debt will climb the economy will continue to suck ass, and when he tries to appoint a supreme court justice it will spook the American people (well 50%) of them anyhow...to see how rabidly right wing they are. Also, the Christian Coalition is pissed that the gay marriage ban isn't passing.

*****on edit: how could I forget the messes in Iraq and Afghanistan?

:hi:

Was there a poll? I was working all day and doing homework with my son most of the evening. I've missed some things.

Thanks!

24. Some numbers
The White House will project that this year's federal deficit will hit a record $427 billion.

Also, the administration officials provided little new detail about their war package.

They said of the $80 billion, about $75 billion would be for the Defense Department, with most of it for the Army. They said such spending would include personnel costs, the start of an effort to add at least 17 combat brigades to the Army and replacing worn out equipment.

I think the $80 Billion was just added today. Can you believe it?

I think this number is about $80 million off today...

Simply astounding to think what that number of scholarships could do.

A feel it in the air as well, people are feeling it now around them as well, angrier at the Republicans and their lies is growing every day now. I am glad to see it happening finally. The Repubs are going down and the time is now. They allowed our children to be killed and want to steal from our elderly, their rumps are roasted. Repub roast anyone ?? It's well done.

4. Yes, let the Boxer Rebellion begin!
Edited on Tue Jan-25-05 10:30 PM by SmileMaker
Barbara has been so courageous, but so have others - including Kerry. Our democracy is nearly dead - it's time for us to focus our energy against Bush and all Democrats who support his style of undemocratic leadership.

Below is a thank you note I just sent to Senator Byrd - let's show these people we will stand with them when they stand with us.

Dear Senator Byrd,

I just wanted to thank you for your principled stand in favor of our Constitution and We the People of the USA. You are a true American hero.

Our Democracy is near death, it's time for this Boxer Rebellion to continue ahead with courageous heroes like you, Barbara Boxer and others who spoke up for us and our constitution.

Democracy is bubbling away out here in the 'Internets'. Boxing gloves anyone? Let the branding begin!!

10. The Boxer Rebellion ... a name steeped in history
Flesh and blood and fists against the British machine guns. It went poorly for them. But their defiance was legendary, and inspired further defiance.

I like it. Sign me up.

5. I think you are right.
I love Boxer and admire her as a true patriot. What strikes me is that she's been way out front twice in the past 20 days -- 1/06 objection to Ohio and her persuasive opposition to Rice. The world did not end for her, the full weight of the CM (corporate media) did not fall on her, her constituents did not revolt (just talked to a friend in CA who fired her a "C note" spontaneously after watching her tonight). She's not so far out front any more which means others are joining her. Look at the Senate debate any of you who doubt this. According to the "conventional wisdom," she should be getting slammed and she's getting more popular and some good press. I think this is part of the basis for your intuition and I think you're right on target.

The world didn't come to an end, and the media didn't bring the hammer down on her. Maybe it will embolden the spineless quarter of the party to fish their testicles out and replace them.

8. I hope to God you are right
The Dems need a spine transplant and she may be it. I think it helps that Harry Reid(D) and Richard Lugar(R) are giving her the go ahead. I think alot of mod repubs are sick of this admin. and what it is doing to their party and our country. Time for patriots to take a stand, regardless of party. It was noted by Gore Vidal that the pubs stand for party before country. I think there are many intimidated republicans who are looking to the minority party Dems to save their a**es!

11. Don't forget -- Rep. John Conyers believed us when no one else did
If it weren't for his intervention, there would be no Boxer Rebellion -- he's good friends with her and personally pressed her to act.

And I'm not even going to mention everything else he did prior to January 6.

There are still 51% sheeple out there who will follow the Chimperor into the abyss. He's got the corporate media in his pocket too. That is the sad fact about this country.

18. The impassioned Democrats who have spoken out are the
ones who truly represent us. Those Democrats who let this slide on by and said they will vote to confirm Condi Rice should get the cold shoulder from all Democrats. Boxer showed everyone just how the lies that were told came from Rice as well as the rest of the cabal. If we end up with a liar for SOS and a torturer as AG we can't recover.

19. Do you think they care?
Not the people, we don't count.

The people in control. Do you honestly think they give a damn?

We know about Abu Graib, and we know we're sending people to other countries to be tortured. But they still send them to those countries, and we're building Camp 6, and who knows what else, down in Cuba.

We know Rumsfeld has his own hit squad, but I'm guessing that won't be going away. Even if the McCain thing looks into it, I'm sure Rumsfeld and the rest will find a way to do what they need to do.

We know there were no WMD, yet they're able to change the story.

We know they're seriously thinking of somehow hitting Iran, directly or indirectly. That can't be done, we're stuck in Iraq. Yet these guys still end up doing something new every day, that should be shocking, but no longer is.

I wish I had your faith. But this administration isn't here to play the game of democracy(whatever it is, if it exists). They got their trigger for revolutionary change, and I see no reason they stop. They're too far gone to stop. We're in Iraq, and they themselves said the need to be there transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.

And since when has shame ever had any impact in Washington? We have people from Iran-Contra in power today.

These guys want war. They hate the UN. I'm sure they enjoy seeing all these countries lining up with each other. Russia and China. China and Iran. China and Brazil. Russia and Syria. They don't much like Saudi Arabia. They want total war. This is what they want. And from the looks of it, they're well on their way to getting it. They want WWIII, WWIV, WWV, WWVI. They like being friends with Pakistan and Uzbekistan, only to then create more war with those very countries a decade from now.

Long Live the Boxer Rebellion!

I live in Ohio and Boxer is my senator. Force the repugs and the spineless democrats
to defend the indefensible. Let us drag the truth into the light and force all Americans to look at it. And from that we will take this country back.

22. Yes It's Possible
One way to help spell the beginning of the end for Bush, is to keep emailing CNN or other media. And so long as the news media is persuaded that's in their interest to give it's viewers what they want. Then it is very possible to reach the point of "critical mass" whereby this momentum will feed on itself and become unstoppable.

So email those media outlets and those Senators who heard you and represented you. Lets reach that critical mass point.

that disaster into something WONDERFUL, then he's on his way down FAST....

IMO, bush* has thrown way too much 'political capital' into the sELECTION outcome.....and it all depends on the media....IF the media was telling the truth, the bush* sELECTION is a flaming JOKE, a mock of democracy...but you won't hear that on CNN or faux....

faux will show a few HAPPY IRAQIS at a polling place, voting....and the rest is just CONGRATULATIONS BUSH*, what a GREAT LEADER of FREEDOM AND LIBERTY.....if bush* gets away with such spin, the WAR will continue unabated......

26. Is it the beginning of the end for Bush?
No.

We are going to have to put up with Bush's bullshit for four fucking years. I still cannot bring myself to accept that -- it's just too horrible to contemplate.

And he will lie and spin and weasal his way out of everything, just like he has for the last four years. He is the consummate C student, doing just enough to get by and not get expelled from school.

We're dealing with a cult here. It's gonna take some SERIOUS deprogramming before the American people can recognize right from wrong again.
