Somebody make some "BlueNeck" t-shirts and buttons ...
and put them up for sale at DU's marketplace. I've taken on too many projects right now or else I would do it myself. Go to www.cafepress.com. They have everything right there. I think you have to provide a graphic design for the logo that you want. Everything else is free.

Heck I would buy some and get my friends to buy some too.

Let's take this supposed insult away from the Freepers and turn it into something big and positive and unifying for ourselves.

BLUENECK? I LOVE IT!

1. OK, I'll do it...
I wasn't aware of this latest "insult" -- but I like it. :)

Check tomorrow (Wednesday), and I'll have the gear up:

5. Thanx Sapphocrat! I'll try to be your first customer...
:)

Go to the forum called Market place and put the web url there too so more DUers will see it. I'll try to spread it around also.

9. You're too kind, itzamirakul :)
Here you go -- it took me a tad longer than I thought it would (I was sidetracked by a few other ideas along the same lines) -- enjoy:

I'm going to place an order today. I will get 10 buttons and a t-shirt to start and then add some other stuff. Also, I will post the link on other sites. You really did a great job...now let's get the word out.

How about a bumper sticker that says "A Lucky Blueneck in a BLUE State".

I will be placing an order for some of your other Blueneck items shortly.

Thanks for taking the time to create them.

:hippie:

Just ordered three BlueNeck buttons! If you can see who ordered, I am Susan from New Jersey.

edit: to add ordering paragraph

2. Like the concept but:
Found the graphic face and neck t-shirt unflattering and the wording on the second tee-shirt is too small.

6. Yeah...on another DU thread someone reported
that a Freeper at Free Republic had called us "BlueNecks" I guess trying to insult us as opposed to "RedNeck?" Anyway, we decided that we liked the insult - it made us feel classy and intelligent...so I thought we ought to have t-shirts and buttons, etc.

See, we have to take their piddling attempts to keep trying to inferior-itize us and turn it into the exact opposite.

I'll stry to find the thread for you and post it here. I think I still have it.

7. Yes, if we could guarantee you a large number of sales it would be differe
but since there is no initial cost at CafePress, that is the way to go for now. If it catches on...well...the more the merrier. :)

11. Because I work in a...
fucking bastion of "Freeperdom," I have to keep my statements subtle.
No one has really noticed that I wear blue all of the time. Hell, even my motorcycle is blue.

If these closed minded asswipes knew my political leanings or sexual orientation they would be shocked.

15. You know what really pisses me off?
I was married for 18 years before I came out. My partner was married for 16. There is nothing in how we dress or carry ourselves that would indicate in the slightest way that we are gay. When we have confided to a couple of men that Jogabeth and I are together. They always make "threesome" comments. Not really insulting, but it gets tiring.

16. I bet that "threesome" stuff gets tiring...
but ignorance is something that will be with us for a long time. As a matter of fact, those who make those suggestions probably think they are being complimentary.
