William Pitt Appreciaton Thread
Although I do not always agree with Will, I find that I do 99% of the time. Fire. Passion. Bullheadedness. Grim Determination. Hard Working. Traveling. Writing. Railing. Talking. Walking. Shoving. Screaming. Laughing and crying. He is an example of what we should all be.

We can only stand in awe of his energy and drive. Too bad we can't take up a collection and clone him. We need about 2,000 more just like him. If the man ever runs for office, he gets my vote in advance.

Don't ever change Mr. Pitt. We appreciate your presence in these forums, and we often dump praises on you, and perhaps some of it bounces off, but we sincerely mean every word of it.

Mr. Pitt is not a freak of nature, there are many, many people like him, but not enough yet. We need more. Where do you get people like him? Are they just born of the right parents? Where does the fire come from? Where can we get some?

Some people see politics as something that you watch, like a football game on t.v., that you cannot really participate in. And some people see it as life itself. They live and breathe it, they are in it, and they are re-creating it, from the ground up.

Some just whine and complain, like me, and some ACT.

Will Pitt, for all you do, this thread's for you.

4. It seems completely appropriate to add my reply to this thread
on a day when I awoke to find myself moving beyond my sore throat to being completely muted by laryngitis.
Before I try to figure out how to make an appointment with my doctor without the use of my voice, let me type my gratitude to Will Pitt for providing my voice on the things that matter.
Thank you, Will!

7. I appreciate anyone who made an impact
in this last election, however humble the contribution. Pitt has a great gift, and I'm glad he's able to use it, no doubt. I agree with everything you say, I just want to also say there were many people behind the scenes who worked dilligently and were crushed on November 3. I think of the people in my local Democratic party who worked so hard to elect Kerry, the volunteers who came in on a Saturday and weaved around the small county headquarters, the dedication of the young people, the committment made by the old and infirm to come out on election day. The people who stood for hours at the polls.

Oh well, don't mean to hijack, Will did a great job, but Underpants got me off my ass and pursuaded me to volunteer.

When I first came to DU, I always laughed at his streaming underpants with their look of disdain at all viewers.

edit for typo:

10. Whining and complaining IS a form of action...
...so don't be so hard on those who don't have the time or finances to be activists or go out on the speech circuit.

We also need a Mopaul appreciation thread...for all you have done to bring attention to the Iraqi slaughter and other wrongdoing of the Bush Empire.
