Reid, the Democratic Minority Leader from Nevada.

Reed voted No.

Reid voted yes but gave a very nice speech defending the Senator's who voted no and wanted to debate.

68. Because I think people overreact to a single vote sometimes with
"the sky is falling" types of proclamations.

Thirteen was more No's then I was expecting. Dragging it out to a floor debate was good and also more then anybody expected.

I'm glad.

I guess on this issue, I'm a glass is half full person. Obviously, not everyone is today.

Now, if it is a Supreme Court nomination, the votes aren't a symbolic protest instead they are about the law of the land for centuries to come. THAT will be important.
