The vote was not for Condi - it was for the continuing war in Iraq
It is a stamp of approval for the lies that were told to get us into the war and the lies that will continue to be told that keep us there. The Senators are fooling no one but themselves. They have just put their stamp of approval on the debacle in Iraq.

4. I'm not sure I agree
I'm disappointed that Sen. Leahy voted to confirm, but he's been passionately against the war since before the IWR. All you have to do to know that is read his speech made prior to that vote. In the years since, he's spoken out strongly against the war. I don't know why he voted aye, but he did just vote against Gonzales for AG in committee, as did all seven of his fellow dems. I suspect we're going to see far more dem opposition to Gonzales than we saw for Rice.
