ABBers - Will you vote the Dem nominee if it's LaRouche ?
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 01:58 AM by Hoppin_Mad
His campaign got more federal matching funds than DK. DU reports of TV ads and strong showings at rallies show a man on the move. He's been running as a Dem for much longer than one of the other candidates.

Yeah he was convicted of some fraud, but a lot of pols make little mistakes in these financial matters.

People say he's a nut - he's a Neo Nazi.

People say things about all the candidates. Kerry's called a devil worshiping Bonesman. One of the other candidates has been 'tried' and 'convicted' by some wacky independent 'war tribunal'

Many DU'ers advise us not to pay attention to what is 'written' about a candidate, or on what or what not they were or weren't doing 5 or 10 years ago - but on what they are saying NOW.

LaRouche sounds vehemently anti neocon, anti war, anti imperialism, and seems to speak up for the average American. His message sounds strong.

So . . . IF by some freak circumstance - his candidacy catches fire and he becomes the Democratic Nominee ( for the sake of argument suspend disbelief ) . . .

WILL the ABBers here on DU pledge, HERE and NOW, to support and vote for Democratic Candidate Lyndon LaRouche ?

If not - why are you asking others to pledge to vote for a candidate or candidates they find equally unnacceptable ?

If not - why are you asking others to declare who they will vote for while their candidate is still running ? ( I did this myself and now regret it )

Does 'ABB' and 'Democratic Nominee' INCLUDE LaRouche ?

He IS a Democrat running a legitimate campaign ( matching federal funds proves that ) for President in 2004.

-edit spelling-

1. I'm ABB but LaRouche?
Nah...not going to happen. I just don't see any way he would get the nomination at the Democratic convention.

ABB is always true no matter if the Democrats nominate Zell Miller as a compromise candidate during a deadlocked convention.

ABB is absolute!

7. He is running as a Democrat
Yes, he is a racist, and he is insane.

The purpose of this thread is to challenge the idiocy of ABB. The fact is that LaRouche is going to be on the ballot of the Democratic primary in some states, that makes this lunatic a Democrat (even though you and I would agree that he is more of a Nazi).

12. *big fat cough*
I think it was pertty clear from the get go that ABB meant any of the actual legitimate 9 candidates that were running. Sometimes people crack me up with their hair splitting.

Frankly, Dean sat on TV and said his votes were "non-transferrable" ..he said it more than once....

No one is forcing anyone to take a loyalty oath and one can even ignore whole threads now..so anyone complaining is either secretly happy to anser this question or is a masochist.

the admins here consider him. You should educate yourself on this man. It is an insult to all Jewish people here at this site that you would propone such a despicable neo-Nazi as LaRouche.

And let me add that this is a progressive website. Tell me please how you consider LaRouche to be the least big progressive.

Everyone recognizes this thread for what it is. It is foolish.

LaRouche won't be at the Democratic Convention in Boston, but Zell is going to be there as a superdelegate. Why doesn't someone challenge his credentials? This jerk is supporting Bush for election!

Heck, Lieberman would be better than Bush!

and the bastard gets to cast a vote for the nomination, despite the fact he has already endorsed Bush.

His credentials should be taken away before this fool goes on TV and goes off on one of his pro-Bush tirades.

please do something about shrinking your graphic. It is pretty and all, but it is hell on people with dial ups. Please do not tell us to turn off graphics. We do like to see the avatars and an occasional cartoon. But those huge Clark graphics are slowing everything down.

Thank you

and if your dial up is very slow, you can go to options and turn off signatures. (Do people put "cartoons" in signatures? hmm...anyway...) I am on dial up also, and it (or other graphics of DU's allowed size) poses no problem for me.

My image is 200X294,well within DU's allowed size, so there's no need to shrink it. Sorry if it doesn't propone the candidate you support.

I couldn't say the same about LaRouche. Calling yourself a Democrat is not enough in my book. If I were given the choice of voting for the one to vote against the other, I'd just opt out of the entire farce.

At least LaRouche has the balls to go after Bush/Cheney and the neo-cons. All Lieberman does is rubber-stamp *'s legislation. I'd rather have today's more toned down LaRouche than todays Repug Lieberman.

22. I have researched LaRouche, I don't like him really, but...
I like him more than the recent Lieberman...

Yes, LaRouche is a crazy, insane man, but he's willing to agressively go after Bush Co, which is something that Lieberman is oblivious to, that's why he loses my vote.

I do agree with LaRouche on about 10% of his opinions from the War and Education.

ABB only covers the 9 candidates who are running/ran. LaRouche is NOT a Democrat by DNC terms. If LaRouche ever gets the nomination, I would seriously consider voting for *, because he's not going to nuke London to stop an invisible drug trade, or initiate Holocaust II. However, even if LaRouche came to the convention with a majority of delegates, the super-delegates and the DNC would use a brokered convention to keep him from accepting the nomination.
