207 weeks to go, folks
A lot of you are going to be basket cases by 2008 if you keep living and dying with every vote in the Senate. If a Cabinet appointment has you tearing your garments, it's going to get really difficult down the road.

It's going to be a rough 4 years and the Republicans are going to win a lot of victories simply by the fact that they control all three branches. I don't know if it is wise or healthy to torture yourself over each and every vote.

Pace yourself.

Just sayin'.

1. I see it as 207 weeks for voters to see effects of repugs running things
So from my point of view, I say let them have at it (because they're going to anyway). It will be a matter of hard cold evidence, and not just opinion, when it's time to tally up the results of their electoral majorities when election time rolls around again.

Good advice you offer there about staying sane, theboss.

Sanity is a choice. If you want to buy stocks, buy quality companies and hold them for the long term, and only check the price once a quarter. If you follow the daily ups and downs, you'll drive yourself crazy.

2. Good analogy with the stock market
For some reason, my mom (who owns no stocks) decided to start watching CNBC and began living and dying with the market fluctuations each day. We had to have an intervention.
