7. I agree.
I wasn't crazy about her before and now ... still not so much. Please don't let her even think about running. I would find myself hard pressed to even hold my nose and vote for her. As a matter of fact, I don't think I could even do it that way.

She has lost my respect and my vote.

2. She touts herself as such a fighter, but hasn't stood firm on a damn thing
Not Iraq

Not the Patriot Act

Not voting issues

Nothing

She's a celophane politician that rides on reputation alone.

13. But Hillary found "common ground" with Operation Rescue
Did you ever expect a Clinton to be anything other than a shameless panderer and self-promoter?

Heck, I'll take Kerry over Hillary any day! At least Kerry voted against Condi Rice and he no longer has that loser Bob Schrum around.

42. Not on reputation alone:
She has the money. Other primary candidates will find themselves "starved out" if Hillary decides to run. The web will help others but probably be split and unable to agree. Hillary OTOH will control some very big purse strings. Right now she has the largest PAC and spreads her good will ($) along with the resulting loyality it brings.

I am not a Hillary hater...not at all...but I am a realist. Will Hillary take the biggest prize? Who knows...but as a realist, I rather doubt that the far-right's icon of immoral values will move the electoral map in our direction.

4. Barbara Boxer for Prez in 2008. You're right though . . .
these Democrats need to start sticking together and quit being such hypocrites.

They say what is the truth; however, they vote against what they just said.

How are we as Democrats suppose to have any respect for our politicians if they cannot even vote for their beliefs. Sure, they would lose; however, what is the point of getting up, giving a speech about how wrong C. Rice is for the job, then vote for her to be Secretary of State? That is the height of hypocrisy and a slap in our party's face.

30. Be honest, is there any politician in office that you agreed with . . .
everything they did? I would like to find one my self.

With DNA evidence freeing so many people who were actually innocent that were on death row, that has totally changed my beliefs of the death penalty. I could not sit on a jury and give the death sentence to someone. I've been called to jury duty twice in the last 20 years and got out of it both times. My nerves are bad enough.

9. It's sickening.
I've said it again and again, what did they have to lose by voting against Rice? Even if she'd be confirmed anyway, they would have taken a stand.

I'm disgusted with Hillary Clinton, but also remember that she wasn't alone.

We need a Doctor in the DLC.

40. Pretty obvious to me what she thought she had to lose
Taking a stand commits one. A NO NO. It is POLITICAL SUICIDE!

Better to keep it all a secret, interspersed with tittilation and hints that could be one thing or another, and let the magical thinking adoration, attribute something that is not there to a particular person such as Hillary Clinton.

A successful politician these days, especially one that has become acclimated to the belt way, does NOT commit on anything. :eyes:

That is shameful, but seems to be the accepted way these days.

For some, that is.

And this is what we are expected to vote for? A know nothing vote in the HOPES that this candidate will work for us and in the HOPES that this person is really a progressive Democrat, but is keeping that hidden until he or she is elected?

11. Does she not get it?
Has she not seen how marvelously leaning toward the center has served us in the last few elections? She may have had a shot a President before, but she has turned off too many people lately. She will never win over the right. To them is and will always be a Clinton.

I don't doubt Bill advised her on this one. He advised Kerry to support DOMA too.

They sure do look like panderers. Brilliant politicians, esp. Bill, but panderers nonetheless.

15. Both NY senators voted yes.
Sigh.

New York is one of the states most directly affected by Rice's incompetence, yet both our senators gave her the green light.

Disheartening, but not surprising in the least.

16. Hillary and Schumer are an EMBARRASSMENT to NY.

How they are nominated and renominated without challenge by the NY Democratic Party is truly mysterious. I for one have stopped contributing $$$ to the state party because of their silence on and complicity with the IRAQ horrorshow. I'd recommend others do the same.
