Maggie Gallagher says "lots of columnists on the payroll...MOST DEMS."
And the CNN NewsWhore didn't question her.

As usual, the republicans feel that simply saying "oops, now that I've been caught, I regret my error" exhonerates them from any wrongdoing. That's Maggie's position.

But Maggie upped the ante. In defending her own indefensible actions, Gallagher told Carol Costello that there are lots of others doing the same thing, and "believe me, most of them are democrats." Of course, Costello didn't challenge her on any of it.

Maggie, it's put up or shut up time.I want names! Who are these other columnists? Democrat or republican, NAME NAMES. This is at the very core of our democracy, Maggie. If you're going to throw grenades like that, you'd better be prepared to back 'em up.

Who do we write to? Where to we start the mailing campaign. OUT THEM ALL and let the fascist chips fall where the may!

21. Come on, who do we always bitch about around here?
I think Fineman and Matthews should get on the record. Have they received money or not? If they have nothing to hide, this one would be easy.

31. Fineman and Matthews are not Democrats
Even if they used to be. They are probably taking money to spread Republican propaganda, but its not like they stand for Democratic ideals or anything.

37. Truth in advertisement. They push their Democratic background
to justify their position as if somehow they're qualified to be honest brokers, which we all know, they're not. They're misrepresenting themselves to the public and the sooner we out them, the sooner we can get intelligent Liberals in their position.

35. Yet another diversion from the fact this administration is abusing its,...
,...power by using taxpayer money to fund government-generated propaganda. It matters NOT who the neoCONimperialists are paying to spread their propaganda.

What matters is that this administration is misusing taxpayer money to brainwash the American public into supporting policies which benefit the wealthiest 5% and HURT the rest of us.

THAT'S the point.

Whomever they are paying to HO their policies really doesn't matter (although I do want to know each and every single one of them).

6. To make their idea look good.
Democrats, ideally, won't agree with a thing Bush says.

So they pay a Democrat, so they can say they have "bipartisan support". An added benefit is that unpaid Dems look like fringe radicals by not agreeing with "your own fellow Democrats".

I've been saying this from the start. It's not the Republicans we need to look for. It's the blacks, the women, the untraditional Bush supporters.

But obviously, these assholes are paying everyone.

4. Carol Costello is an IDIOT.
Letting that go is really dumb. It's called followup question, dumbass. Listening to the guest talking.

I swear, it's such a shame that there are so many unemployed when half of them have to be better than the no talent hacks in every profession I see everyday.

Edited on Thu Jan-27-05 08:31 AM by Skidmore
She fairly glows when she talks about *. It would not be a question that she would even consider. CNN appeared to me generally to be very concerned with bolstering the voracity of their pundits yesterday. Something really smells.

15. Yes, she does glow when talking about *
She also makes assorted smart assed remarks and faces whenever she talks about Dems!

I have sent so many emails to CNN about how biased she is that they probably have me on a stalker list.

Don't they make the reporters submit their questions ahead of time so they can pick and choose and write a script for Shrub?

9. The ombudsman?
This certainly goes beyond a letter to their general mailbox! It is a matter of content and credibility

I googled "CNN ombudsman" and got:

Action Addresses
... Reliable Sources: Reliable@CNN.com (202) 898-7575 ...

The site address is http://www.jfedbflo.com/Actionaddresses.htm, is run by Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo and has a current (2004/2005) copyright date.

11. I agree with you
If she knows anything, she needs to back up that statement with names. Plus, she needs to back up how she knows this info in the first place. Was she shown a list of other "media" people that are on the take to convince her to particiapte? I doubt it. Was she shown a list of "media" people that were participating so that she could monitor them for their statements on the subject she was hired to push? Just why would they show her a list, or otherwise let her in on the "secret society member list" when she appears to be a lowlevel (only $21 grand after all) paid shill.

Lets put the pressure on Williams and see if HE knows others as well. Perhaps a letter writting campaign to our local papers asking if there are any local "media" people on the take? Get them all looking over their shoulder at each other might be a good way to begin the campaign of seek and expose, and watch them eat each other.

13. The key isn't so much about being paid, it's about
the fact that they don't tell their readers or listeners that they're being paid. Everyone knows Begala is paid by the Dems and people can use that to weigh the voracity of what he says.

At least he claims to be registered as one. So do a lot of the PNAC Neocons now in power.

Maggie's just making another stab at perpetuating the liberal media myth.

That is what the Right Wing has been hollering for years. The name Democrat no longer implies liberal. Democrats today are every bit as right wing as Republicans of the eighties. It really doesn't matter who the Administration pays for propaganda it is still wrong IMHO.

What matters is this administration is using my tax dollars to do it. That is the real issue. This one isn't about political sides, it's about screwing all americans both dem and repug.

By the by, if there are Dems on the dole, it just proves the point that the media isn't liberal.

standard practice - whenever I brought up the election fraud on several local boards, it often got shot down with a rabid "BOTH SIDES DO IT!!1!!" or something similarly stupid.

I have always said, if someone cheated, they should be arrested and made an example of, no matter what side. By claiming that both sides do an immoral act, these pukes are hoping to take the heat off them, like it's suddenly ok if both sides cheated, even if the other side's cheats seem kind of sparse and did not come out right away.
