Lieberman says he won't drop out after New Hampshire |
|
Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Lieberman said Tuesday he won't drop out of the race, even if he places below third in next week's New Hampshire primary.
<snip>
The Connecticut senator said the surprising results of the caucus, which placed John Kerry and John Edwards in first and second place, only reinforce his belief that pollsters and pundits don't pick presidents.
"New Hampshire is going to change political history again one week from today," he said.
Lieberman said he believes his ability to appeal to the political center -- by attracting independents, Democrats and moderate Republicans -- will lead him to a better-than-expected finish in New Hampshire. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/01/20/state1937EST0759.DTL

get the hell out of there!!!!

He is still toting the DLC line. He has no interest in remaking the party or contributing anything substantial.

3. Then Lieberman is an ass.... |
|
but we knew that already.
What's he hoping for? A win in Florida that will catapult him to the front?
I understand that nobody can say NOW that they'll drop out soon, but I suspect he WILL in fact drop out after NH. He's been living there for a month and can't get any traction. He's not gonna do well in South Carolina, either.
He won't be around much longer.

4. Does he really think he might win the nomination? |
|
You have to question his judgement.

5. Why isn't Carville telling Joe to drop out? |
|
This is why I think that Carville is full of shit. He should be giving the same "advice" to Joe as he has given to Dean. Joe has no chance, and has not only been bashing other candidates, but he has been bashing Democrats in general. And worse, he has been giving tacit approval to Bush's policies, which won't help the Democrats, no matter who is the eventual nominee.
