6. Clinton & Bush are part of the Global elite with a big agenda
sure they are different in personalities.

If Clinton were an honest man he would come out swing on the war, Iran, soc sec reform, the medicare sham.

The fact is there is a global agenda...they are using Clinton to prop up Bush since he is in power.

21. Bingo. & those who refuse to see it out of blind loyalty are not helping
us get out of the mess they both put us in.

Clinton can't come out swinging on the war. He waged it too! Economic sanctions, no-fly zones, and daily bombings of a country IS war! Neo-liberals can call it whatever they want but that IS war. Iraq was warred against for 14 straight years. 14 years!!

Clinton. A republican by any other name. My relationship with him went from total admiration to pure disgust and the education you get at DU had a lot to do with it. These people say one thing but when you watch them in action, day after day, you realize what liars they are.

NAFTA. GATT. WTO. Welfare Reform. Plan Colombia. A war against Yugoslavia to force them to play our free-market game. Things are going to get very, very bloody now because the sleeping bear, Russia, has woken up. Ukraine was the last straw and PNAC's sabre rattling is not helping.

Between the groundwork Clinton laid and the total disaster Bush has created, we're pretty much finished as an empire. And it's going to hurt like a M-F.

I can see how we could give him credit for this kind of savvy. Still, Clinton is the ultimate centrist so it could be an 'in your face' or it could really just be him expressing true admiration for another politician's success at connecting strongly with a base.

24. Clinton knows that * is directly involved with those that impeached him
and speaks passionately about how morally wrong are the people that ruin reputations and lives to gain power.

There must be more to Clinton's new found respect and enthusiasm for the leader of the cult that defamed him, destroyed his friends and dismantled the good works he did for this country... certainly more than just "I get him..."

Personally - and this is my tin foil hat talking - I am beginning to speculate that some of our top Democratic leaders fear Bush is poised to stage a fake terrorist attack against innocent American citizens to insure against any loss of power, and these Democratic leaders are placating Bush to safeguard lives.

is "chilling" because that's exactly what I thought. All the people on this thread dissing that interview should have stayed with it. I think reading between the lines and even in some cases not having to...Clinton layed out what we are up against.

And...it's not "tinfoil hat" what you say...I think Chimp's Poppy is worried that his spawn is going to do something and that's what this alliance with Clinton is.

I hope if it's repeated more DU'ers who are open minded will watch it.

27. Enough with the petulence
Clinton has made a lot of remarks like this. And every time, we've put more energy into complaining about how Clinton "was the best Republican President we ever had" than using his statements as a political hammer.

Save the accusations of whoredom and treason for those who really deserve the epithet. If you need reminding, many of them live in Washington, DC. The frustration is understandable, but a lot of us risk passing up A Good Thing in our demands for political purity.

Clinton has just provided us with a sound bite that we can use for years to hammer the right-wing voices of hate. Every wingnut remark about ultra-libbrul "Slick Willie" now has a devastatingly effective comeback: "You Conservatives are so full of hatred. Even Bill Clinton can find good things to say about Our Beloved Leader!"

If -- when -- some member of the Press picks it up, don't think it won't get play.

We should take our traction where we can find it. Bill Clinton just gave us the equivalent of snow chains.

52. Your thread title is not fair.
You can't take a great discussion like Clinton was having over there in Switzerland and pick out something like the above. Besides, I thought he explained it pretty clearly and it showed his maturity in not letting those thugs get to him.

Why didn't you report on all the things he said against Bush's* policies, like the environment, budget, debt, etc, etc,? That bush* should have let Hans Blix finish the inspections.

Why didn't you say that Ted Turner gave him a round of applause for telling that audience from 96 countries about how the US took down the leader of Iran, and then that Ayatolla got in there, and how the US was Sadam's best friend. Clinton even said that Americans weren't supposed to tell that story, but that was what he believed.

I thought it was weird that just when Clinton was going to give his advice on Israel/Palestine, the signal was lost. Usually, when that happens, the C-Span host says, we'll be back as soon as we reconnect. This time he said, we lost the signal, so we'll just move along. Boo!

George is so desperate for approval that Clinton can get to him. I think it's kind of cool, and I trust Clinton to use the opportunity to suggest moderation of Bush's ambitions.

Bush is a mentally ill man. Clinton's coming alongside for a purpose, I think. I hope.
