CNN doing a "propaganda" report this evening. |
|
I just listened to the opening PR: "blood-thirsty insurgents", "wounded warriors", "eager Iraqis", "historic elections".
All "warm and fuzzy" inserted in the horrors of an unjustified war.
Geez.

I get my news off the Internet and certain programs on Air America.
Never watch TV news unless it's something really, really special and I want to observe the spin.

Good for you.
Cable news sucks. Don't watch it. Better yet, don't pay for it.

just for laughs. Trial run for 2004... "Why Were Government Propaganda Experts Working On News At CNN?" http://www.fair.org/activism/cnn-psyops.htmlCIA funding reporters with Operation Mockingbird http://www.prisonplanet.com/analysis_louise_01_03_03_mockingbird.htmlCredibility shot. Now what ? Oh, editorialize and much weeping and gnashing of teeth. How about lie detectors...

7. Exactly! The only two pundits I can stand to see debate each |
|
other are "Shields and Brooks" on PBS ... but only on certain issues. Brooks is often a shameless shill but SOMETIMES he surprises me and says something downright plausible. ;)

Some actual news is interspersed with their People In The News shows. Aren't they proud?
What can one say about the network that employs the traitor, Bob Novak and the spineless Larry King? They're no better than Fox - just not as blatantly obvious.
Whores. :puke:

9. Before the election I was a news junkie... |
|
now I can't stand to watch the cable news networks such as, CNN, MSNBC, etc.
Once in a while I'll watch Keith Olbermann or Lou Dobbs but that's about it.

If you feel an absolutely over riding desire to catch a few minutes of what's playing on the MSM, I've found that reading the scroll and watching with "mute on", can soften the impact. Even under these limited circumstances, I've noticed that the unbelievable has happened over the past few weeks: CNN has gotten much worse. Yes, the meme is: the Iraqi elections are perfect and wonderful.

11. I surfed across Paula Von Zahn last night |
|
And Eva Zahn was airing a similar report.
As I viewed the tail end of the report that I caught, I thought: this is convenient. A mushy, emotional story to rally behind the troops in order to cover up the "36 dead marines" story yesterday.
But then, I figured they are not THAT organized.
Rather they are running these "stories" now because the Jan 30 sham elections are coming up and they knew lots of our kids would be getting killed.
So they knew about a month ago that they needed to put some of this poop together in order to keep the sheep asleep.
For example, what little I could stomach of Eva Zahn's story last night was like what you were describing, Our glorious troops. They even had the parent of a dead solider on asking viewers: "These soldiers, kids really, died for you. They died for your freedom. So ask yourself: What did you do today that pays tribute to their sacrifice for you?"
I know it's probably awful, but I found myself thinking: Your kid didn't die for me. Nor did he die for my freedom. He died for the corporate bottom line.
Anyway, it was pretty nauseating propaganda, and the fact that the whores at CNN would use these grieving parents to justify this slaughter was really sickening.
I have to remind myself not to channel surf, otherwise I come across this garbage.
Shame on you Paula and shame on you CNN. We're onto you.

13. Accuser of Scott Ritter |
|
Paula Von Zahn, the same person who accused Scott Ritter, before the Iraq war, of "drinking Saddam's Kool-Aid," when Scott kept insisting that there were no WMD in Iraq and that a US attack of that country would be a huge mistake.
I guess you know best, Paula!

16. Like many others above, I, too, am a reformed MSM addict |
|
I get way more than I need of the corporate media propaganda onslaught right here; just by reading the recaps. that's more than enough. whenever I catch myself stopping on one of those channels while surfing, it rarely takes more than a few seconds now to realize how utterly vacuous, venal, mendacious they ALL are, including CSPAN (most of the time), with there extremely unbalanced lineup of AEI/Heritage/GOPAC/Xtian Coalition-based broadcasts, not to mention their Washington Times-laden/wingnut populated Washington Journal show. and don't get me started on PBS
Enough....gotten to the point where TMC and animal planet are about the only things I can watch without aneurizing
OK....the little old nun on the catholic channel.....when she gets the obscene phone calls: that's hard to top, but aside from that and Daily Show, that's about it
