About yesterday's press conference... |
|
I read a really good editorial in the Washington Post today called "Day of Loss." It pointed out that in the opening statement made by the president who I can't bring myself to name did not specifically address the helicopter crash that left 31 troops dead.
When David Gregory pressed him on the particulars, he made some empty statement about the spread of liberty being vital. But his response showed me that he was aware of the crash, but did not consider it to be worthy of a mention.
What complete disrespect to the troops WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES in his pointless, endless war. I'm sending some letters to editors about this because, when viewed in this context, it becomes even more clear that this guy doesn't give a damn about our troops. And the media either doesn't care enough to report it, or doesn't dare point it out.
We are really adrift in this country right now.

1. You are absolutely correct! |
|
And he was inappropriately upbeat following the bloodiest yet day in Iraq. He also when questioned said the sacrifices were "worth" To whom? Not the soldiers families I would bet. And what sacrifices has HE made?

one thing that i disagree with you on though is that imho he knew it was worthy of a mention, but he didn't do it. He cannot. Because in his mind he thinks that admitting that something went wrong is a sign of weakness. his hubris is the house of cards on which the entire RW rests.

11. The blivet was aware of the crash prior to the |
|
press conference but chose to ignore it. No surprise there, because he cannot admit to any mistakes. If we don't see or talk about dead soldiers, they're not there.

10. I predict that George will be holding many more. What has he to lose now? |
|
He looked more relaxed knowing that they can't do anything to him now, they already know he is unable to give intelligent responses. He openly talked over reporters questions, getting his hand-picked journalists to laugh when he made nasty comments to the questioner. Notice he still didn't answer the questions.
George is going to enjoy his last four-years, he can strut and pretend that he alone saved the world and we should be ever grateful for his rule.

13. He should have at least... |
|
..opened the press conference with a statement about the dead GIs. Instead, he gave some cockamamie crap that meant nothing.
He shows his priorities. First priority: George W. Bush.

14. let's not forget that he's also gutting the VA . . . |
|
to BushCo, soldiers are simply expendable commodities . . . just another cost of doing business . . . use 'em up, then toss 'em away . . . doesn't matter if they're maimed, psychologically damaged, or radioactive from depleted uranium . . . once they can't fight anymore, they're on their own . . .
these people are immoral, unethical, and thoroughly disgusting . . .
