7. People on DU were talking about that yesterday but Newman is 80.
I'll believe it when I hear Newman say it, otherwise I think it is BS.

By talking about it, I mean trying to think of someone who could win by challenging Joementum, not who they had heard was going to run.

12. Even tho he's 80, He's can drive Race cars...
So that's like being a senator for sure...

Paul Newman set to drive in 24-hour race two weeks after car catches fire

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (AP) - Paul Newman is ready to drive in the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway next month.

"You bet," the Academy Award-winning actor said during a conference call on Tuesday, one day shy of his 80th birthday. Just more than two weeks ago, Newman escaped injury when the car he was driving caught fire. He will return to the cockpit of the same car on the same track for the race on Feb. 5-6.

"The car should be rebuilt and ready to test hopefully at another track in Florida before we actually start testing at Daytona," he said.

Newman, an accomplished sports car racer, has appeared in five previous Rolex 24s, winning the GTS-1 class and finishing third overall in 1995.

14. Yeah, I think he is 80
But isn't it nice he's thinking of doing this? I am so disappointed in Lieberman (what is he thinking?). Something has to be done. I do like the woman, Diane Farrel, who challenged Chris Shays and got pretty far, in the last congressional race. So, let's look at her!

15. as a Dem in the primaries or as a Repub?
because a choice between Newman and Lieberman in the general is a good choice

Jew vs. Jew oye oye oye!

16. Don't know if there's a connection, but just read today
that Joanne Woodward is stepping down from her position at her theater.

Although also read a bit yesterday saying that there have been these rumors around for a while, and that he's continually denied them.

He'd sure be the best looking senator in there!
